What Did You Do This Weekend?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
CarDomain was all over the place this weekend–Jen was at LeMans, John was at Pikes Peak and Sean was at Texas Heat Wave. Ryan’s dad took his 2004 Cobra out to a show ‘n shine in Idaho. We heard he tangled with an old 427 Mustang on the way to the show and was able to illustrate the superiority of his modern supercharged 4.6. I’ve got a pic of the old school 427 Mustang after the jump.
What did you do this weekend?

I finally hung my flat panel TV on my wall. I have put it off long enough. I was just gonna hang it but I looked plain, so I made a frame with some burch sheets of wood and oak trim and added some cabnets for the components. Pictures on my cardomain page 5.

Located a firebird being parted out in South Jersey. Bought the rims & tires, as well as a couple small parts for $250. Painted the rims satin black to match the ground effects. The tires are 245’s, a bit narrower than the 275’s I’m used to and the rims are 16’s instead of 17’s but the ride is smoother and I imagine my mileage will improve.

I’m not sure if I’ll sell the other rims and the Eagle F1’s are pretty much used up from the cornering. Gonna probably hold onto them and wait for a deal on suitable rubber, then swap sets when I want.

I didn’t do anything car related other than order enough polished stainless steel fasteners to do pretty much the entire engine bay.
.
I love polished stainless steel fasteners.
.
Hopefully, I’ll receive my order and have it installed for this Sunday’s big show
.
I also bought a 10 x 10 canopy this weekend, and some other stuff
for our car show display.
.
We suffered too many days in the sun this season at shows without a canopy.
.
I should have bought it sooner.
.
I just got some weights and tie downs so it won’t blow away when
it’s set up on concrete or asphalt.
.
Can’t wait for next weekend….

Forget the Mustangs, I want that old Willys jeep.
I was out at Mid-Ohio both Sat and Sun for the LeMans and Indy races. It was a great weekend. A bit TOO HOT but fun anyways. I got to play bouncer at the grandstands for the Indy race. BTW drunk guys at races suck. I am not against drinking at the track, but getting drunk and being beligerent towards the volunteer staff is too much. On a high note, my wife got to talk to one of the team owners. He came and sat next to her side of the stands up until his driver lost the wing right at the end of the back straight. I posted a few pics on my PT cruiser page and 2 Indy videos on the video page.

I like ‘em both, but I prefer the older one. No offense but the rims ruin the cobra.
