You Can’t Kill a 3.8
By Rob Einaudi

Or anyway that’s the conclusion of this Davesfarm guy after he ran over a 1992 Buick Regal a few times with a 20 ton bulldozer and was still able to drive it around his property.

I used to have a 92 regal with the 3.8 as well and that car was tuff as heck even after I got ran of the road and hit a tree head on at about 60mph the engine still cranked over and worked even though the car was totaled I was so sad loose that car.

if they only made v8 blocks from the 70s that tough. Of course engines that almost balanced by gm ford and dodge got the weak castings. The 3800 just may be wosre than an inline four with a balance problem- not to burst any bubbles. truth sucks. the 3800 is not tough, furthermore, engines aren’t made to be run over.

In my opinion, these are the greatest designed engines put in civillian vehicles. We rarely have any trouble at the lot and they tend to push past 250,000 no problem.

High torque, throaty sound, 6,200 rpm redline and CHEAP TO FIX. what more could you ask for in an engine.

:::Disclaimer::: The 3.8 V6 is a tough motor, but the tranny there attached to like a whinny child. It throws a couple fits first untill it finally lets lose in one big tantrum. Especially if its supercharged.
