I was thinking a long time ago about putting a Seville front clip on my 79 Eldorado (Paris coupe conversion), but wasn’t sure if it would work or be popular.

Your car proves that it is doable and very hip, nice work and very good taste. Look forward to seeing the final paint job.

Even both being G Bodies, it’s still hard work. I’ve always wanted to do that swap myself. It would be nice with a 3rd gen Camaro rearend for the rear disc and the cars Master cylinder/booster with those rims that look like Monte Carlo SS rims that the 1st gen S series came with or those rims.

On a related note theres a I think 2nd gen s-10/sonoma with an 80’s BMW headlight and grille treatment. then I saw a red on that looked like a truck GM made just for BMW or it was an Isuzu, hah!

Good question Bryant but no. I was originally going to put everything from the El Camino back in the Cutlass and run it as a derby car since all I needed for the interior was the driver’s seat and column, but I scrapped the idea due to the soft/non existant frame and tendency for these cars to fold like lawnchairs even with good frames. If you look on my site there’s pictures of the Cutlass being hauled away, I got $100 for the shell from a guy who wanted the 305. I’ve still got the Elky front clip and doors in my backyard, for sale on kajiji Brantford.

Yes Chris, the doors are a direct bolt up, the hinges are the same. It almost closes properly, I’m leaving it to the pros to do the final fit. I did have to use the doors to fit the fenders. I hadn’t planned to, I was going to just swap over the regulator, glass and door panel to the Elky door but there was a huge gap between the rear of the fender and the front edge of the door. Also I tried to use as many Cutlass parts as I could, my intention being to build a Cutlass pickup and not just an El Camino with a Cutlass front clip.
For anyone interested I’ve got a poll on my page to pick an official namr for this beast.
