Kid Drives Impala SS Like He Stole It, Because He Did!
By John Coyle

This video has probably been kicking around for a little while, but I’d never seen it, and I love all the footage of the Impala SS just walking away from the police cruisers. At one point, the dude in the chopper is flying 130MPH, and he’s still having a hard time keeping up. Of course, the 17 year old thief behind the wheel gets busted in the end, but that doesn’t make this clip any less fun to watch. Enjoy.

It’s basically a Cop car chasing a Cop car… The police issue Caprice cruisers have the same LT1 engine block. The “interceptor” version of the Caprice. And yes, I doubt the Ford Crown Vic can keep up. I hear most police forces are changing out the cars for the newer models now so they have more agile vehicles.

really.. nice way to start out life.. that 17 yr old needs to get his ass whipped.. but i love the lt1 impalas.. had a 96 ss in black.. great car.. ill tell ya he wouldnt have had a chance if he was being chased by those ls1 camaros, the new charger hemi cop cars, or those old fox body 5.0 patrol cars.. we need to have cars on the highway patrol that can catch hopped up performance cars…

Damn that’s some good ol’ Chevy power there.
I’m glad that nobody got hurt in the chase and that the car is still in one piece. If I was the owner I’d probably murder the kid if he wrecked it and I’d make him work his off of to buy me another one.
I beat that kid had a great influence or hero. Maybe he just got caught up in the wrong crowd

That’s great Chevy Power! Too bad he’s off to such a lousy start in life.

Nothing beats big LT1 power. Looks like he might have run it a little to hard at the end. I see some smoke coming out of it. I love how he just walks away from the Crown Vic in that one scene.

Goddamn I love those cars… I had one back in college, and with 4 buddies in the car with me, still got it up to 125 and cruisin…… not straining at all.
