For the record, I’ve seen more 4.6′s pop then, Cherries at a colledge party..All of these “imports” ..You speak of are the down side of the generation, D15′s an shit.. Thats like comparing a american V6.. in the class of a V8..When you get into B16′s up to B20′s.. With the JDM (Japanese domestic market)..Or after you build the car right..the power you can push out of something half the weight, with shorter axels.. Hondas only loose on drag tracks because of the movement of the weight, the car throws weight on the back tires, which lighten’s the front..it has nothing to do with lack of power..Just a imbalance that can be solved..Dont just hate something because of what you see in majoirity,..A good Honda is built with alot into the motor like a ported an polished intake manifold & head, with a reliable bottom end..A Vtec head..without one of those full flow systems, with no restriction,.. A hollowed out Kat. With a decent muffler not just a can, Helps hold them togather… I’ve seen honda’s melt the bottoms of the head from crank’n out mass RPM’s..I admit there is alot of bullshit hondas..But get under the hood of a real honda.. an its something to appreciate..

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IMPORT LOVERS. ILL ADMIT JAPAN HAS BETTER TECHNOLOGY BUT I LIKE KNOWING HALF THROTTLE IN MY GTO WILL OUT RUN JUST ABOUT ANY IMPORT, AND MY GAS PEDDLE WONT BREAK OFF.

and you really don’t need to “give it to the imports” look at half the shit you said, you can tell it’s total bullshit. i mean you used “import” and “reliability” in the same sentence.

ignorance is bliss buddy.

colby that’s you’re “one friend” when looking to a general public- in more instances than not you see the v8′s take priority.

for instance i too have a friend, 89′ mustang fastback- running low 8′s. and yes, i shit you not. they gave a drag inspired civic bubble 15 legnths on this guy at E town, and he still couldn’t win. and he’s probbably only invested about 40k into it.

i got a vortec stroker with 12:1 compression and ls1 and 4.6 aint nothing and the part cost the same to build as imports i like chevys but you still have to give it to imports though a 4cyl turns up alot faster than a v8 w/ by theory it should out run a v8 in an 8th and get better mpgs ( i was at the drag strip 1 night these 2 guys who are friends built cars to race each other the $ limit was 80,000 one had a 2002 corvette the other had a 98 honda civic in a 1/4 the honda out ran the vette by 4 lengths @ a 9.55 so….)

ha – that sucks.

as for the argument
i’m agreeing with all the others supporting the American cars- v8 is just wayyyy more fun, and the main reason alot of the “import scene” likes their fart cannon hondas and stock 18+ second 1/4 miles is because they can’t afford anything better. i’m no hater, but all i see is you scion/honda/toyota lovers who buy those 4 door sedans, slap a wing on the back and think it’s hot shit. i fucking hate that. then when you try to race them on the road they dont even attempt to keep up because there all bark, no bite.

for those of you who are in the import scene and don’t believe me -
get behind the wheel of a V8 Mustang, Camaro, Charger, Challenger, GTO or whatever you choose- and tell me your dick dosent feel bigger.
you guys don’t know fun.

enjoy slapping another wing or afew more stickers on to gain back that ego.

Yo First and Foremost some of you guys need to go to a grammer class and learn how to articulate your thoughts a little better.. Now with that said..

ImPort + AmerICan Muscle = Who CarES??

EvryOne know you can Both types of cars runn smooth 11′s so why spend the next 5 yrs arguing about it… MR AmERICaNS enjoY your V8′s

“LS-1 and the 4.6 two most powerful economical and reliable engines.”

That is grammatically and factually ridiculous.

look if you dont like mustangs thats your cup of tea but………….imports off the showroom floor dont get out of their way. you spend 40K on a new evo or sti and your only runin mid 13′s if your very lucky. they arnt even that good on gas. and they are ugly as hell the new sti looks like a civic and the evo is uglier than my butt after i take a poo. those are your two cars that all you import freeks put on a podium. GM and FORD are on their game. buy a mustang and youll get the best of everything and girls wont think your drivin a civic. imports are gay. LS-1 and the 4.6 two most powerful economical and reliable engines. and the working class man can afford them. stop trying to make imports fast just drive them to the corner store and forget it

about the import vs American discussion. i used to be an import guy until i bought a 91 mustang. the two most important things no one talks about it which is more fun and where its made. more fun= V8 any day. forget having to pop the clutch to burn out. i literally have to try not to burn rubber. and 2 is its made in America. support the Japanese if you want. where the market crashes you’ll know why.

i’ve helped build plenty of mustang drag cars i just dont like them, I got a buddy who has an acura with 500hp @ front tires he owns a exotic car dealership he ran it with a gt40 and a shelby cobra both of those cars have right around 700hp @ the rear wheels and both of them only beat him by 1 car in a 1/4 and his little acura still gets 30mpg with the programer (ps. he has his own dyno)

hey colby where do you get your facts from? oh shit i also forgot to tell you im a tech at a ford dealership.for you to tell me that an import is more advanced than a mustang makes me laugh! personaly i think all this new networked car tech shit in cars is gay. i would love to have you sit behind our manufacturer diag equipment and just browse through this car. last mustangs are very reliable and have no issues with reliabilty 3v or 2v! these vehicles are very inexpensive to own.

colby
Aug 10, 2008 at 2:12 am

y would you want a mustang?(if your fusing about imports) the new modles have v8s that are only 4.6′s they have dual overhead cams (like imports) they have coilovers(like imports) almost the whole car is plastic or fiber glass (like imports) The only things that make imports rate higer than mustangs (besides being a ford) they dont have nowhere near the technoligy or reliability as import

This one sucks!!! I don’t believe Mitsubishi did this for weight reduction. For production cost reduction maybe. He should try slamming on the brake pedal while at a standstill to see if it’s breakable plastic too. Damn sucks!!!

WOW… thats all I have to say… I was going to put you in your place but I don’t think I could say anything that would make you seem any dumber. Thanks for the laugh.

Yea Like Stewart Said “Atleast it wasnt the brake pedal”
In my old car my gas pedal got stuck down and i immediately
started to speed up, so i had to stick my foot under it and
pull it back up before i ran this stopsign.
