Abarth Grande Punto

By Craig McAlpine

iMotor

Before we go any further we must establish that although this car is a Grande Punto, it’s not a Fiat. It’s an Abarth. The car has been prepared by Fiat’s famous tuning division so it isn’t just some badged special edition with a fancy body kit. There are a raft of performance enhancements which are designed to transform the car into a serious hot hatch.

For the launch Fiat–err I mean Abarth–took us to a tight and twisty hill climb circuit in the north of England, which was quite a challenge when you start putting in some faster attempts! There is some great video of me driving the car along with a full review at imotormag.co.uk. Plus more pics and stats on the car after the jump.

Those are just the kind of cars we can’t get in the US – decently appointed, high mileage, vaguely performance cars. It’s no LS1, but for 95% of my driving, it’s just what I’d need.
