German Cops Confiscate Hot Rod Office Chair

Slashdot seems to be reporting that the teenage inventors of this motorized office chair were arrested, but the AP article they link to only mentions that the chair was seized. We don’t know German, but we’re pretty sure that this is the chair in question.

I can see the train of thought. First you’ve got a chair and you decide to strap some wheels on. Then you’ve got to make it go, so you grab the lawnmower motor. Well that ain’t safe, so you’ve got to half-ass some brakes. Little more welding to solidify things and by that point, why stop? All it needs is an afterburner and a rollcage and you’re all set. That was easier than buying a car, right?
