Don’t Forget to Flush!

By Ryan Porter

Incompetent Fool

Are you having trouble when you add an image to your ride page? Does it seem like you double-click on a pic 30 times without anything happening? Well, you’re not alone. The good news? All you have to do to get past this glitch is clear your cache. Now, you’d think I’d be able to explain how to flush your cache in one sentence, but the truth is that it’s different in each browser. Follow the jump for specific instructions.

Don't Forget to Flush!

FireFox 3 Win:
Tools -> Clear Private Data… -> [check the boxes next to cache, cookies, and Authenticated Sessions], click
"Clear Private Data Now"

Internet Explorer 7 Win:
Tools -> Delete Browsing History… -> click "Delete Files…" next to Temporary Internet Files and Cookies -> Click Yes

Internet Explorer 6 Win:
Tools -> Internet Options -> General Tab -> Click "Delete files" in the Temporary Internet Files section -> Select "Delete all offline content" -> Click ok.  Also in the same section, click "Delete cookies" and click ok

uuuuuuuuuh I can’t do anything at all! Can’t add pictures, can’t add text, can’t edit text and my HTML window is empty! And yes I already cleared my cache! What the hell is going on? Anyone?

Hey Sim, same problem here. Don’t know how to fix it other than to copy the entire page and paste it into a new page.

Click the add new page button.

Highlight everything on your page 1, left click & select copy.

Go to the new page you just made, left click & select paste.

This will copy everything over to the new page and all functions will work properly.

Now, go back to page 1 and select delete page.

Continue the same process if you have multiple pages until all the pages return to the original order.

Good luck!

I stand corrected…the pictures will upload & the HTML editor will work…WHEN I START A NEW PAGE! But neither function is working on any of my 13 pages that I just finished redoing!

Oh great, here we go again! What the hell is wrong this time?

I am trying to upload some new pics into my page and when I double click on the image, like I did before on my 18 hours of redoing my page, all that comes up is this…tiny_mce_marker…What the hell do I do now?

I am happy to report that I have successfully redone my text on 16 of my 18 pages…
.
I have been on a “stay-cation”, so I had the time.
.
My page is now looking better than ever!
.
.
Now all I have to do is spruce up the text on pages 15 & 16, and I am DONE!
.
.
Even though I almost threw in the towel last night, and debated starting a drinking binge…
.
.
…I really do like the new system.
.
.
Thanks CarDomain!

I did all of that and it still doesn’t let me edit anything at all!

I usually just bang my head against a doorframe to clear my cache. Works every time…

Also, one thing that has been helping a lot of users is to try and reproduce problems in a separate browser. If you are having trouble in FireFox, switch to Internet Explorer.
