The 2008 Hardcore Happening

I attended the Hardcore Happening a few years back: it was a big hot rod party out among the cornfields of upstate New York, and it was bonfires and burnouts all night long, along with drags out on the empty two-lane country roads. One guy with a flamethrower exhaust even backed his ride up to a gasoline-drenched brush-pile to light the bonfire, and I was sure he was going to blow us all up. Yep, things tend to get a little out of hand at this annual shindig, and it looks like this year’s Happening was no exception. Somebody even crashed his ’37 Chevy into some trees while drag racing, and I heard from someone who was there that he took out a neighbor’s parked Eagle Talon as well. Crazy kids! Bad ass cars! I wish I had the money and the skills to build one of those.

On to the cars, I love that low slung rat rod in the burnout pics. Great looking car. Too bad about the Silver one that apparently lost it on the burnout and ended up in the trees.
