1st Annual Team Chevelle NorthWest Dyno and Burnout Competition Winner
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Greg’s ‘66 Buick Special Deluxe had the burliest burnout at the 1st Annual Team Chevelle NorthWest Dyno and Burnout Competition back in June. Only problem was, some previously burnt rubber caught fire under his car. "It got hot enough that it burnt both of my airbag lines under the car, and left soot all over my bumper and fenders. Let me tell you, it WAS exciting!" Yeah, no kidding. Greg has a ton of great pics and video on his ride page, so be sure to check it out.

I just found this page while searching for ‘66 Chevelle burnout pic’s, I had no idea it even existed. I wanted to thank Rob for taking the time to post a blog featuring my Buick. What a very cool surprise! Thanks again!

Joe, I hardly consider the dust kicked up from a kangaroo a burnout. Even if they are running for their virginity.

Burn outs with flame have been gracing Hot Rod culture rags for years. This is a great example, but one of the best was a Drag inspired Diesal Tractor (Frieghtliner, I think) that was pulling a serious flame out tire torture test. All things considered, the fire on the truck picture was probably started on purpose…This Buick is plain sick! in a very fun way!!!

Americans have the most boring burnout comps. Aussies do it best.

60cc chambers and all the heavier duty stuff ought to win something. My last go with a sbc was 64cc and it didn’t last…but while it did. holy Crap man! Nice ride, glad to read the specs…
