Split Screen Battle: Viper ACR vs. Corvette ZR-1

I love watching videos of sports cars ripping around the ‘Ring, and I thought Andi Baritchi’s split-screen mash-up of the Viper ACR and the Corvette ZR-1 running hot laps was particularly cool. While ‘Vette fans might not be super stoked to see the track-tuned Viper spank the General’s new supercar by a burltastic four seconds—four seconds!—for non-partisan folks and Mopar fans, this is one hell of a clip. Enjoy.

dumb matchup… Like a ferrari challenge car racing a street porsche, or a porsche cup car against a street ferrari. for the last time nobody cares to watch what is already universally known… race cars are faster than street cars

I just reviewed exactly what a Viper ACR is.

It’s a stripped down, street legal, race car.

Beating the ZR1 by four seconds in a fully loaded Viper would be great,
but this isn’t really comparing apples to apples is it?

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have the ACR Viper or the ZR1…

But, if you are gonna compare them, you should compare similarly equipped cars.

What would a ZR1 that was stripped down a bit, and had the similar mods that make an ACR Viper from a Viper, would do?

I’d bet that the ZR1 would not lose

The only changes made to the stock ACR Viper was installing a Racetech seat and a six-point harness. The Viper was rated at 600 HP and the Vette was 638. (4 Seconds)

Great mashup but, it would be interesting to see what an out of the box Viper would do compared to an out of the box Corvette!
Great clip and truly 4 seconds? Phhh took me longer than that to write this….
