Evil Twin

By Craig McAlpine

iMotor

This is a car that I have been waiting for as French motors with revvy engines are ‘my thing’ (check out my ride page!). It’s the Renaultsport Twingo which has been given boost in power. Ok, so it’s only 131 bhp, but remember this is a little car!

The car I drove in Portugal had the ‘Cup’ chassis. The car has been lowered by 14mm over the standard Twingo and also has stiffer springs, dampers and a widened track. This basically means you don’t have to slow down for bends, making this little French motor seriously quick when it gets twisty! Oh and it gets 40mpg without being a dirty diesel! Be sure to read my full review and check out the video I did on this hot little hatch.

sure renault has made some nice hot hatches in the past like the R5 Turbo and Clio Williams but this isn’t one of them. 130bhp from a 1.6 is nothing fancy and 1050kg is not really light. then there is the styling, at least the previous twingo had some sort of character, this one is ****ing ugly!

Next time more revvin’! Great little car. Shame I won’t get to partake unless Fiat comes to the states.
