I live in the uk and the driving limit is 17 onwards and ure supposed 2 be classed as an adult when ure 18! so fuk all that bullshit that ure beta driver if ure older! ye mayb they in duin it longer but every1 has 2 learn at the end of the day! its nuffin bout age! so no it shunt be raised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the agfe should stay the same. It would be stupid to raise the driving age and lowering the drinking age. Maybe we could toughen out the drivers training, and extend the driving condition training. Also, most of the people that get jobs drive themselves. Also, the kids that go to college would not be able to drive home and have to be picked up. Also marching bands go to away games to play and root for their teams. The kids, squad leaders, drum majors, and section leader all drive to the high schools and after words go out to eat after words at a specific place. if this new law came intoi effect, the traddition would be stopped after a number of years. If it goes down to an electoral vote, which would be the best thing to do, i don;t think that it would go through becaus of the millions of teens that have jobs and also because of the then need for parent drivers. Only if the older people that, sometimes drive worse than the younger kids, vote it might go through.

Ok as far as the comment of the 16 year old feeling like hes a pro driver with only 5 months under his belt, He dont know what divin is. its an art form. About the topic, i belive the should restrict the license to minors not remove it. why punish all for a few that abuse it. i know Teens who follow the rules as well as some that only learn the rules so they know how to break them. give em restrictions.

There are no statistics, with proven facts based off of real figures showing that Teens are the cause of the majority of street accidents in america nore is it the number 1 death among teens.

I started driving before the legal age, 13 years old. I drove mostly on back roads, im now 24 years old and guess what. Probably 20 speeding tickets(Only in safe deserted zones) and 0 accidents, not a bump or scratch, nothing.

It has nothing to do with age, as said before it has to do with experience, the large majority of adults would fail a driving test held to standard. The majority of accidents I see are women on cell phones, typically driving large suvs or small minivans.
Coming in second would most definetly be the elderly, I cant count how many times an elderly person has tried to merge into my lane, scratch that, my drivers door..

So go ahead, raise the limit at which teens are allowed to legally drive on there own. While your at it, require all women with cell phone contracts, mini vans, dodge neons and honda civics along with elderly people take a driving test 4 times a year.

all you fucking idiots who think 16 year olds dont have the right to drive are fucking retarded im 16 and have only had my lisence for about 5 months and im a better driver then anyone i know. im just as good as anyone the age of 30+ like everyone else says its not the age its the experience. and here in canada you get your learners for a year novice for 2 years then your class five. changing the age will not change peoples dumbass habits or just plain old stupidity if you can drive well then dont. and people over 65 who cant see 2 feet infront of them are any better driver cause they have had 50 plus years of experience no its complete bullshit. and how do you expect a teen who like me has no other way of transportation no we dont have transit where i come from so how in the hell am i supposed to get to school or work. i work at 4 in the morning you expect kids like me to wake up their parents and ask for a ride no its bullshit if we had more freedom and more rights then most of the teens would be a hell of a lot more responsible. hell we cant go to a track and race on our own cause were teens who “cant” drive as you adults put it but fuck i bet i could out drive your ass in a heartbeat. so fuck the system keep it at 16 its bullshit you cant take our rights from us when we have earned them. and if you fuck up your insurance sky rockets so its more of an incentive to be a better diver than raising the age limit. just my opinion of this crap and if you agree then post it and if you dont well i just dont give a fuck.

Kids that kill themselves on the road at 18 years will kill themselves at 21 years. Its not so much the age, its the experience. Better training maybe, and a longer period on your provisional license, not a higher age limit. I’m about to turn 18, and I’ve seen more idiots and dangerous drivers with full licenses than with provisional licenses. Some people just aren’t meant to drive anyway.

I think the driving age should remain the same. I just turned 18 and to tell you the truth i can see that some teens have that ability to know what to do in a stressful situation and some don’t. It has nothing to do with the age. there are a bunch of “mature” people out there that get into accidents. i believe that there are people that have the ability to drive well and there are others that have no clue. i’ve been driving since i was 16 and i have never even backed into a car whiles parking… 16 is the right age to drive. i believe that there should be a little more training required to see who has it and who doesn’t. speeding is an everyday thing in New York. everyone’s always in a rush. i don’t think teens cause accidents i think it’s neglagent drivers that change lanes without watching, signaling, etc.

Yes, I see so many young drivers that don’t know how to drive, it’s crazy! Another thing about getting license’s, NO MORE EXTRA FEE’S, Getting your license shouldn’t be so expensive and the testers shouldn’t be a assholes, they got to know that we pay they to have a job, taxes!

I don’t think they should change the driving age. I am 16 myself but all of my friends and I know how to controll ourselves (though many of you find that hard to believe). Yeah we speed sometimes, who dosent. Our teachers get pulled over for speeding, because the cops are on the main road, the only way to get to school so people always get caught speeding and realize its dangerous. With enough police enforcment and the many recent accidents last school year takin the lives of many teens are being to realize how bad it is. Yeah people have accidents, such as me (see my 2003 honda civc CDub0917) but it is an accident and things happen in the rain and what not..but I was not speeding. Keep the age where it is.
