From A4 to RS4

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Some guy in Norway bought a new RS4 interior for his 2005 A4 1.9 TDi Quattro. And then he got a little carried away. The end result is a car that looks an awful lot like an RS4, but still lacks a few things like a 420 hp 4.2 liter V8 and Audi’s Dynamic Ride Control sports suspension. So I guess this is pretty much the exact opposite of a sleeper. What do you guys think? I have a bunch more pics of the transformation after the jump, but you should definitely check out the full forum thread over at Audizine.

for all you guys that say he should have bought a real rs4 and calling him a poser, this guy lives in norway, id like to see u guys buy something other than a ford pinto living there. gas prices and cars are ridiculous in norway, grow up and quit being jealous bitches about his ride. u wish u could have a car as nice as this.

Heres an idea…quit being a poser;wasting hours and hours of time in the body shop and go buy a RS4. Sheet metal and a set of rims does not make an RS4.

It’s a complicated way of getting an RS4, but if looks is what he wanted…he sure got them. :D

First off good thing there arent any comments by some Muscle car fans about how gay this car is or something…I think this was an amazing job. Wow cuz that looks pretty damn good. Its still slow but ohwell. I work at Audi and Volkswagen and the RS4 is pretty damn sweet.

WOW GOOD JOB BUT I THINK YOU BETTER GET REAL RS4

looks clean ass hell and for people questioning performance its still a factory turbo charged engine that can handle tons of boost. i’ve seen a jetta in a diesel performance mag that puts down 420 ft lbs of torque at the wheels you could easily do the same engine mods to this car and when you factor in how low of a rpm the engine could make all that torque you could easily make the 1.9tdi faster that a real rs4 since the rs4 is a rev happy n/a engine

OK… so did the guy do a full B7 RS4 Conversion to his B6 A4 or is it just the front end? From the pics it looks like a full conversion… but I think it would have been way better to be original and Keep the B6 tails… Its a clean ride and I hope the guy has some performance mods done to it that way when people want to race it at least has some go

If the guy just wanted looks not performance than this is perfect cause the car looks awesome, and the gas milage is still amazing with that 1.9 Diesel.

That looks fantastic, the conversion looks OEM & the colour is gorgeous. Plus the TDi may be a diesel but with four wheel drive and all that torque it aint no slouch. A friend of mine has one & its not much slower than my S15…. Plus Slim is right, if you were lucky enough to find a second hand RS4 you would be into the hundreds of thousands so this norwegian has an amazing car for a fraction of the cost…

FYI, B7 RS4s, even used, are about $250,000USD in Norway.
It was def. cheaper to do this.

Sep 19, 2008 at 5:10 am

.. I wonder if it would’ve been cheaper to get the RS4. Granted, he did most of the work himself.. but I still think it would’ve been better to just GET an RS-4 & mod the hell out of it for the money spent.

They used to call this kind of thing “All show and no go.” But cars ain’t all about going fast. At least it looks great!

I was about to say the same thing as above…hhmmm I does look good but alot of work and money to make a car that is already being sold and still have the specs of a 1.9TDi….oh well maybe at least he will get good gas per km??

What a dud.

Anonymous

i bet it would of been cheaper to buy an RS4 and drop in a 1.9TDi…

That’s a lot of work. I guess he wanted the “look” of the RS4 but 50MPG at the same time?

Anonymous
Sep 18, 2008 at 8:27 pm

it looks awesome, great color but it’s like using steroids when training… you’ll get a great body but end up with a useless dick… anyway its a great projet to accomplish :P (the car!)

AC
Sep 18, 2008 at 8:09 pm

Why would you do that? For the cost of all of those mods, you could probably just buy an RS4!
