Dave at AEV, is a friend and I hold him in high regard. Dave designed the Brute, is an excellent craftsman. However, to call this ICON a rip-off of that 2002 design is a bit off base. Dave has been studying out custom FJ45 pick up designs since about 1999, and the Toyota original dates from the early 1960's. You are comparing apples and oranges, and my orange tree is older! :) Either way I will try to take that as a curveball compliment..... Jonathan @ ICON

To think for a minute that this is a rip off of an AEV Brute is hilarious. For those of you that are not familiar with an ICON it by far is a much higher quality vehicle as well as this design has been around through the toyota circles for years before jeep ripped off the idea! Do your research & get your facts straight. Only a jeeper would insult the up ccustomization of such a vehicle. I would bet the bank this ICON would out perform the BRUTE hands down!

Looks just like the AEV TJ Brute that debuted at the 2002 SEMA Show. (http://www.aev-conversions.com/vehicles/show_tj_brute.php)
