Worst Road Rage Ever: Woman So Pissed Off She Burns to Death

By John Coyle

Editor

After ramming a Fiat Punto she’d barely avoided colliding with just moments earlier, Serena Sutton-Smith kept her foot to the floor until her tires disintegrated and her engine caught fire. Now, most people would probably stop at that point—or never get anywhere near that point to begin with—but Sutton-Smith apparently meant business. She literally told a man who tried to help her to "f**k off," and never even attempted to get out of the burning car. Talk about road rage! Read all the gory details over at the Times Online.

can a nova really do that? i have a little more respect for a nova if it can keep spinning til the engine is on fire.

as for the woman, this is evolution at work, she was determined to die and she did, i have no sympathy

What a completely socially mal-adjusted crazy bitch. To sit in a burning car is just plain stupid, and to sit here and piss and moan about peoples “lack of compassion” for someone who was obiously trying to kill themselves is S-T-U-P-I-D as well.
This is Social-Darwinism at work here, one less crazy bitch on the road with her cell phone glued to her ear, foot jammed to the floor, and eyes looking everywhere except on the road.

There’s a difference between flammable and combustible guys. Gas is flammable. It all burns, but combustible doesn’t just burst into flames. I’d have took her out one way or the other. Obviously there’s some underlying issues here. Just like baker acting someone if they’re a threat to themselves or someone else.

Sad incident.

First off the reality is some people change the second they get behind the wheel, they turn into non observant ignorant assholes, the guy that tried to help her shouldn’t have let her burn,he should have clocked her in the jaw and knocked her out then drug her out of the car to face the consequences of her action and the cops never let her drive again, everyone seems to become a tuff guy when they get behind the wheel of a car, people need to learn to wake up and get a life!,a car is a way to get around, if you can’t respect it then park it and take a f***ing taxi!!!!

most of these people sound like children. Engine oil is classified as flamable but it really isn’t. I work in a shop and we throw ashes in it from cigs. It gets cleaned anyways when we send out the oil to get recycled.

Isn’t it amazing how many reasons people can come up with to explain bad behavior? Has the idea of personal responsibility ever crossed your mind? You sound just like the bunch that hangs out on the Daily Kos. In fact, I seem to remember a very similar name of an “Author” one time I visited there.

Best be careful, though, as they frown on plagiarism, which is what your long, rambling rant appears to be, IMHO.

For Jeremy and the anonymous knowledge base:

Here is some info to help settle the discussion. Why not use your computer to find out what you don’t know, rather than have a pi$$ing contest over it? Here is an MSDS I found online (very easy):

http://www.starbrite.com/msdssheets/15012-msds-6-18-05.pdf

If you don’t know what an MSDS it, go to the site, and it will tell you there. I won’t tell you that, nor the answer to your little scrap; that would make it too easy for you. It might also show you the value of using references.

Cheers :)

(CAUSES OF ROAD RAGE)
Many things can cause road rage. Even trivial and unintentional moves can lead to an act of behind-the-wheel violence. All drivers have their own “driving personality” when they drive. Everyone expresses how they feel or act in society by their driving abilities. If someone has a lot of self-confidence and is concerned with the well being of other, then these qualities will show through their safe driving techniques.

There are many different attitudes that drivers can portray while driving. One attitude that drivers depict is carelessness. More accidents are caused by careless drivers than anyone else. These irresponsible drivers are often not watching or paying attention to their surroundings, making dumb mistakes that could easily make someone upset. Just by not signaling when making a lane change could make another driver so angry that they want to retaliate against the careless driver which can end up with someone getting hurt.

Another attitude drivers portray is recklessness. Many reckless drivers are often teenagers; they haven’t had their liscense that long so they don’t know how to make the right decisions when it comes to driving. When people act reckless, they feel as if they can do anything and they won’t get caught. If a driver is driving dangerously, this not only endangers the reckless driver, it puts all the other drivers at risk, which could then lead to road rage.

Another attitude that drivers tend to have is temper. More than 80% of drivers are angry all or most of the time while driving. When people get angry, they lose their sense of judgement and values and let their instincts take control. This is especially bad while driving under tense situations. The tempered driver becomes upset over the littlest driving mistake made by another driver. They then react against that driver in an aggressive way, leading to a more harsh situation.

If all drivers would be aware of their attitudes, than there might be less cases of road rage.

Another reason why road rage may occur is because of race. It might be hard to believe, but an average of 38 road rage incidents each year are a result of a racist hate. These incidents start the same way other aggressive driving incidents, but after a little while of arguing, there is an exchange of racial comments which it then turns into a racial-road-rage dispute. These disputes are usually instigated by groups of males that are “looking for trouble.”

Another factor to road rage is the environment. One example of enviromental caused road rage is noise. Noise can influence the intensity of aggression in a driver. Some music that people listen to can match their feelings that can cause them to become violent. While listening to music for some people can be soothing, this can be dangerous because it prevents some people to give less attention to the road and how they are driving. Noise can also come from outside the car; from another driver’s car. If noise can not be controlled, this can produce stress, and can make concentration more difficult for the driver.

Another enviromental factor that can cause road rage is temperature. Temperature is something a driver can’t control so when it gets too cold or hot, the driver can become more agitated. It is proven, that people driving in hotter conditions become more violent easier than the people driving in cooler weather.

Overcrowding can also cause road rage. This is also something that drivers can not control. Drivers just want to go home and they don’t need thousands of other cars in their way, so they may become violent and commit an act of road rage.

Another factor of road rage is territory. To many drivers, their cars are their second most valuable possession, so they want to protect it. And if anyone gets in their way of hurting their car, they will react in a violent manner.

Another cause of road rage is the drivers’ ego. Many drivers feel like they are ranked on how well they driver. This then causes some drivers to act more superior to other drivers because they feel as if it is their right to be the most important on on the road. Drivers that act this way cause hostility between them and the other drivers. Some people feel that driving improves their self-esteem, which leads them to think that they can take more risks than others and that they can criticize or harass inferior drivers. Many drivers with big egos believe that nothing bad can happen to them, until something does.

Another cause of road rage is selfishness shown by drivers. These drivers just aren’t courteous of others and only care about what they’re doing and how they’re going to get there. Many of these drivers don’t obey the rules of the road which can lead to trouble.

Sientific studies prove that too many rats in a cage causes havoc. they kill and eat their young as well as other rats. Simple mathmatics show we are becoming more and more over populated with all races. Simple things like trust, human kindness, common sense and Honesty are fading in this Country more and more every year. People purposely putting virises on line to infect other computers. Road rage, I still believe an eye for an eye but the laws were passing these days are hidious. We need a soulution, And that don’t mean legalizing murder. The problem starts with raising your children, the goverment is to involved… If your kid fucks up I say BEAT THAT ASS!!!! Most of the Problem with society today is they were pampered too much as a child..Children demand Disiplen and I am not saying abuse. But if you put one bruise on a childs ass these days DSS is in your face. Change your Goverment you change the people. breaking a childs bones, burning them or beating them senseless is Abuse woopin that ass isn’t. You might even get a yes sir or yes ma’am out of them. I don’t know what was going through this womans mind to make her reach the point of self aniliation but she was someone’s Mother, Sister daughter or GrandMother rage is an illness and it can happen to you, If someone cuts you off in Traffic most people don’t ignore it. if you don’t run them down or flip them off it still triggers a response. No Folks what she did wasn’t right But in the same token if it was your Mother in that car Could you? Would you? let her just sit there and burn? I would of risked life and limb to save her and then got her help.. Common Sense? And maybe later smoked a big fat one wondering why the hell I did that… (Just Kidding)

Imagine this psycho as an ex-girlfriend…> Just another example of the dangers of bi-polar people who go untreated.

For the record, 9/11 was an inside job. I feel sorry for the innocent people that were killed in the grand scheme of things controlled by the group of 8. We are all seriously F*cked! Total anarchy is the only way that the general public will be able to topple the militia of the elite members forces. Wake up people… the world is going to self destruct because of the biggest deadliest sin – GREED.

I think this part is a great point of view on this whole situation:
“Alan Crickmore, the Gloucestershire coroner, said that her mental condition meant that she failed to APPRECIATE the danger she was in.” < -I guess I can see that but I think you could have used a more appropriate word other than appreciate!!!

a bystander: “She was certainly able to get out of it when Mr Willmore opened the door and INVITED her to do so.” < - Well that's why she didn't get out, you had to say, "Hey, uhh, you are going to die if you don't get out!"

“I am SATISFIED the fire was started because of her deliberate actions.” < -What?!?!?!?!
