Hyundai’s reliability has been on a major upswing over the last 5 years while Nissan’s has dropped. Hyundai has been repeatedly rated above Nissan over the last couple of years.

Why was the Genesis rated against a Lexus, because Lexus is the perceived benchmark at this time. Reviews have usually placed it the same as the Lexus but for much less.

Resale value is driven by market perception. Considering some of the narrow minded responses on here, its going to be a few more years still for Hyundai. Their resale has been improving but its still below the top three Japanese. So if your only going to keep your car for 2-3 years then no Hyundai is not for you.

Someone talked about warranties. Nissan’s is definitely sub-par to Hyundai’s. GM’s warranty was mentioned as being equal, when it is not.
If you look ONLY at the powertrain mileage then yes. Both are 100k BUT GM expects you to go thru that 100k in 5 years while Hyundai gives you 10 years. Ya sure the powertrain is a critical thing, but that is not the whole picture. Bumper-to-bumper counts as well. GM’s is 3y-36k, Nissan’s is 3y-36k, while Hyundai’s is 5y-60k. Significant difference in favor of Hyundai there. And for anyone who mentions the non-transferable part of Hyundai’s warranty. The powertrain simply reverts to 5y-60k to coincide with the B2B warranty.

haha, that will guy is just pure retarded. Any of the 4th gen camaros or new ones would absolutely destroy both of these cars. It will get just as good gas mileage, out perform, and be more reliable, with less of a cost for a repair if it tends to happen. Keep to your ricer logic.

It realy is a tough choice even though through tons of research i have found Hyundai ratings on reliability on the upswing and the fact thats its rwdrive with a V8 option i would still have to go with the tried and true nissan until i see some more changes with hyundai like the value of the car going down hill as soon as the keys are handed over, id still wait a few more years on this one.

the v6 genesis doesn’t touch the maxima, and although i havent driven the v8 genesis, i have driven both of the v6’s. Hands down maxima, so easy to drive but i’d wish they’d put the gtr’s tranny in it. o and i dont kno bout the v8 but try powersliding in the genesis, doesn’t feel like it rwd unless its wet out. however both cars are great=] don’t expect to get alot of hp out of either tho

as far as reliability goes nissan is not the most reliable, a nissan breaks and get ready for a big fat repair bill.

Hyundais are very reliable no a days, and far more reliable now than nissan. people here are stupid.
do better research next time. the genesis is no econobox junk car here, this is a fine machine with a v6 motor that has been very reliable and problem free since it came out.

the genesis all the way. nissan style has been getting worse and worse, and those headlights just top off the worse in it.

got to go with hyundai on this one one, hyundai is no longer making crap, i don’t understand why people here are so negative and ignorant. 100,000 mile waranty, RWD power, all the luxury you want.

both cars have 290hp on the v6, both cars are $32,000
RWD is funner to drive than FWD, the genesis is the winner here.

hyundai may of been trash in the past but thats how every company was in its first years, this ain’t the 90’s anymore.
