Rust Bucket 1991 Sentra SE-R vs. 2008 Sentra SE-R Spec V
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Remember the first Nissan SE-R? The car magazines went completely nuts for it back in the day. Well, Motive Mag thought it would be fun to pit the rusty, 135K mile example below against a brand new SE-R Spec V. Their conclusion? The new "Sentra has lost its magic. The Spec V is a better car than the 1991 model, but it’s not a better SE-R." Read the full article at Motive Mag.

this is my second comment: after completely reading the article…they described a 1980s subaru.Just change the picture, a few words, let it be truth.Backwards flunkers…

Car and Driver predicted the future accurately when they wrote that “poems will be written about this engine [and] ballads will be sung.” Absolutely amazing. They really said that…and pretended to truly mean it.LOL.For inline backwards thinking, that little nissan wasn’t a bad idea, not worth a ballad, but not a bad idea for a little car.Today they all scream and they are still all flunkies..but hey. Live and learn slowly if its a jap. Some century after thy great war, there will be a real engine for real people..singing ballads of what really was. Really.

I H-A-T-E that car makers almost always make their newer cars lamer than their older ones.
What the crap is wrong with people?

I liked this write up… for it’s general message. It’s so true. The B13 was a leader, and the new ones are just a drop in a bucket full of other “sporty” compact cars. I honestly think the B15 was the last good generation of SE-R… now that’s it’s swelled into a 3000+ tall, weird ass looking car… ehhh. Only perk is the redesigned engine, which is no biggy. Us B15 owners just swap all the goodies onto our engines, and ta da! All the perks of a B16 in a far less uglier car
