Chevy Nightmare

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Someone posted this over on Moparts with no explanation, and I have no idea where it came from. I couldn’t really get my head around it until I saw the second pic, which I’ve posted after the jump. Actually, I still can’t get my head around it.

WTF???

WTF???

How do they get around in it? How do they “simply” drive it? – cool lookin’, but these are my questions! Would like to see at a show near Missouri –

If these were 2 seperate cars at a show, I wouldnt give either a second glance, except to check out the details of the paint job on the droptop. Another Corvette with a flamejob? Yawn. Another lowrider? Boring. But put them together and you get one hell of an interesting ride. Not that these aren’t fine cars, they are just so common that I’m tired of seeing them. Everything looks really well done, and if some of you can’t think of a reason, consider it practice for a more normal project. I dont see that either car is altered too much where they couldnt be seperated, so sometime later they could be pulled apart if he wants to. If not, I say enjoy the ride, Mister, and send us pics of whatever you do next!!

wow, thats interesting. people who don’t appreciate this persons artistic side need to lay off the hating. this is actually pretty cool when you leave an open mind to it.

No it is REAL!! Those pictures are from the state fair in Albuquerque, NM. The vette is hollowed out, the rims are not attached to an axle. that is why they look so off in the wheel well. The guy is always in parades and car shows. I also have a few pics of this ride in this years state fair parade…..

Although i dont really understand why anyone would want to do that to those two nice cars, it is their ride and they can do as they want with it.

First off, to those that say the vette is off dimension, I think what you are seeing is the oversize, misaligned real rims. Which on a real car on the road would not be. But i assure you the vette is in perfect proportion at real size. The rims are large and attached (Based on larry’s third photograph, which also shows how this was done) with hand made rails that attach to the body. The larger than functional rims positioned with the no need to work rails is what makes the vette look faux. The 2 professional photos posted here on this blog could very well look photoshopped. they have that “overdone” look. But the 3 clearly amatuer, clearing not photoshopped, photographs posted by larry of his personal encounter with the vehicle, validate it in my mind.

All of the photo shop comments are bs. For those of you who cant figure it out look at the extra 3 pics that Larry attached with his comment. The vette is gutted. The body is fiberglass right off the bat and when u factor in there is no axle or gas tank and alot of the other parts are missing there is no weigh issue to make it so this wont work. Its just another form of art that someones creative mind came up with and in this case its actually driveable. Kool job. Its very possible that the vette was never even a complete car. He could have bought a new body and just built it to look like it was a complete car at one time. That should help calm those of us that dont like dismembering the “classics”

This car is real. I saw it in person at a car show in Boerne Texas in 2007. The owner was very proud of it. He said that he got a lot of attention everywhere he went with it. No doubt.

I have 3 pictures that I took of it.

Its very possibly Photoshopped. The sise of the vette is too large to actually be real. So….Its either a photo shop job, or some one was really creative with building a vette to fit there like that. If thats true, then the artist didn’t pay attention to the dimensions.

The next and more obvious question is ….(wait for it)….

WHY???

Anonymous
Sep 30, 2008 at 5:19 am

and i just now noticed the shadows.check out the shadow on the vette going the opposite direction than other shadows in the pic. FAKE!

Anonymous
Sep 30, 2008 at 5:17 am

it is definatly photoshopped.if u look close the big spoke wheel on the back of the vette isn’t even for one thing.and it doesn’t even fit in the fenderwell.plus in the second pic the stuff is behind where the floorboard would be in the vette because they put 2 pics together.and think about it.there is seriously no way possible that you could support that car to sit that way inside the other car.it would break.people r so good with photoshop these days you have to really look at things like this before believing it.people can make things look real with that program.i know because i have it and i’ve done some stuff with it.i could make my car look like it was a different color or anything and people wouldn’t know because it looked so real.

Sep 29, 2008 at 12:08 pm

all of you that say it’s photoshopped it’s not and the weight problem mentioned isn’t a problem since the vette is hollowed out look through the window and t-top you can see behind the car your looking through the bottom of the car this guy is a genious if i could drive two cars at once i would want to too.

Jimmy Burgin
Sep 29, 2008 at 2:57 am

The Corvette is a partial body that is welded on a rolling frame, that is rolled up to the car at shows to appear to be in the car but, really its not. Look at the bottom of the door ,you can see the rollers.

Pablo
Sep 28, 2008 at 11:33 pm

So this is what happens when you want to drive two fancy cars at the same time. Very creative!

I bet half of you people leaving these rude remarks about the guy have never said anything about hard rock cafe and any other establishment that displays a vehicle on the side of their buildings, i dont know this guy nor any of you but im not going to pass judgement on him. Maybe he got all the parts out a junk vehicle and put them together, and made them work. its just a creation, and most of all……it’s his great imagination dude whats next how about a cat and dog type vehicle….BUT for and chevy mustang vs corvette,,,,,varoom varoom

maybe the corvette was a complete basket case. If u look at the second pic, the vette has no floor. What ever the point of this was, I guess the owner wins alot of awards at shows for the “wacky” category.

I seen nothing but wrong there. Managed to reach absolute zero on the “Redeeming Value” scale. We should break out the pitch forks and torches.

Forget the fact that he destroyed the Corvette! Forget about the Impala, that can probably be fixed, I highly doubt the Impala was destroyed. But does anyone see anything wrong with putting 26’s on a Corvette???

Son Of a Beach
Sep 25, 2008 at 5:49 pm

Obviously built for the WTF value, it achieves it’s objective. The Corvette is probably a totalled front ender, the loss of the Impala to this is a little harder to justify/rationalize. Outragious, I like it!
