The Cruze: Chevy’s New Little Big Deal

There’s been a whole lot of buzz lately about the Chevy Cruze, set to make its debut at the Paris Auto Show next month. It looks basically like a Cobalt successor to me, but apart from the annoyingly-misspelled name, it might not be a half-bad little ride. In any case, Carscoop got ahold of a bunch of new pics of the Cruze, so you can decide for yourself. The compact will hit showrooms in Europe as early as next spring, and will hit North America shortly thereafter. It’ll be available with one or both of the 1.6 and 1.8L powerplants that Chevy has planned for it (Euro bonus: only they will get the 2.0 turbodiesel. But GM reportedly intends to offer a 40mpg turbo’d 1.4L gas motor for the US market). And don’t let the burnout-like smoke effects fool you—the Cruze will of course be FWD. See more below the jump.

if it was RWD, id be into it. I really think that all the american cars are lacking in this department. If they could bring a small, rwd car to the market, much like the Japanese are starting to do, they would bring their business back with it.

I got excited when I saw that picture, but then I read that Chevy really isn’t giving us a RWD sedan

Not bad.
The volt should at least look more like this one does.

Looks like it’s been done before (won’t mention any names). But it is nice to see GM trying to design something with some style.
