By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

This stunning Pontiac G8 was designed by Neil Tjin and is being built by Unique Fabrication in time for SEMA next month. Mods include a custom PPG blue/grey one-off paint job, a rewrapped and diamond stitched interior, a prototype Vortech supercharger kit with front mount intercooler, Corvette Z06 brakes and seven spoke one lug wheels. Check out Neil’s G8 ride page to see how the build is progressing so far, and we’ll keep you posted as the car nears completion.

I checked out the other pics – still looks like a Charger!
I own a Charger, and this defineatly smacks of it.

Glad I'm not the only one

Apparently whoever does their renderings needs to go back to school. A G8 rendering that looks like a Dodge Charger with a Pontiac grill is pretty funny, especially since the two cars look nothing alike.

Is this basically the same body as the Holden/Vauxhall Monaro?

I know the actual car they are making is not a charger, but the overall proportions and silouhette of that car is a charger for sure. The front end is too vertical and the overhands are all wrong for the G8. You can tell just by looking at the hood vents that something is wrong…they dont match the curvature of the hood at all. I just don’t understand why this picture was used to promote that car. Totally bizarre

I like the posterized effect in the rendering.

The grill, headlights, basically the nose of this car is a return to better styling that I think had fallen off a bit with the post-’03 model year Pontiacs (except the Solstice and GTO). Headlights got too large and grilles took on funny shapes.

To Pontiac’s defense, the amount of visual appeal designs have flows in and out like the tide from generation to generation and their rides didn’t end up looking ugly, well not for most.

Looks like a charger and a G8 eloped and gave birth to this.

Color is fruity, the front doesn’t seem to connect with the rest of the car, hood seems a little out of place, fender whole things are played, but i like the wing!

The rendering looks horrible. Hopefully the car comes out much better.

A Charger has a hump in the body line towards the rear.

wow if I didn’t know any better, it looks like the G8 is on the Chrysler LX platform.

That is a G8 body, not a Charger.
Check out the rest of the gallery for actual photos of the car.
What you are looking at is just a rendering.

Umm… why did he graft Pontiac G8 parts onto a Dodge Charger body?
