No way, Jeep can't program the computer to motor over a boulder for you. Beyond the limit handling is one thing, that's just the computer keeping the car straight. But a computer won't be able to wheel for you...there's too many variables. Plus, there's been many instances where I'm wheeling and wish I didn't have two solid axles underneath getting me stuck on smaller rocks. Lifeless and soulless? the new Wrangler is the definition of lifeless and soulless. Look at the thing, it's the size of an H3! The only chance I have at buying one of those poserboxes would be if it was an EV. Diesels and Hemi's are awesome, but electric vehicles need to be taken seriously as well.

Jeep's need something with a soul, a 440 HEMI would be nice, or at least one of the new ones. A good diesel works fine as well. Or maybe a diesel to drive the electric motors (who needs all those damn heavy batteries anyway?).
Oh and most of us are aware ELECTRIC cars are fast(i.e. the Tesla), and that HYBRIDS are slow, ugly and soulless as well.

It's just like all the driver aid's that the new cars have. Yes you can take a turn faster without spinning out of control, yes you can brake harder on a wet surface without spinning or locking the tires. But none of that is done because of the drivers good skills on most cases, but because the car computer did it FOR YOU!

You just proved the point chris! It would be WAY TOO EASY! It takes the fun out of trailing doesn't it?

Oh come on, think about the possibilities. With one motor driving each wheel and instant full torque, the thing would be a trail monster. Insane ground clearance, and clearing obstacles would be incredibly easy. The thing is perfect for the trail. Plus, you need to drive an electric car to understand the speed. Conventional horsepower ratings on them may seem low, but it's a whole new animal when you drive an electric. Would I buy one? In a heartbeat.
