Five Cars We Don’t Get

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Last week’s Paris Motor Show was just another brutal reminder of all the cool cars we don’t get over here. Like the Euro Ford Focus RS below. That car is cool. We’re stuck with the boring US version. How about the Renault Megane with the crazy huge rear diffuser? We don’t get it. Same goes for the Alfa Romeo Brera TI, Fiat 500 Abarth and Volkswagen Scirocco. See these cars and read the full article over at Road & Track.

I hope you´ll get the Scirocco in the US. I saw him at Geneva and on some meetings – awesome. And for example think about 170 hps out of 1,4 litre capacity at 6-7 litre comsumption…

Well isn’t the pot calling the kettle black? Ordinary European cars look waaay better than anything America produces for the mass market.

I admit there are plenty of awesome American cars out there, but most of your daily drivers look extremely boring and are of poorer build quality. Also, the typical US car has a bigger engine, and is heavier, but has the same performance…hence wastes a LOT of fuel.

Oh, and our cars are safer too (weight isn’t everything).

Reason I got a VW. European cars are Awesome. The focus we have here is a piece of S H I T. This is truly awesome I would get one if they sold it here.

European cars can be built perfectly, and we still wouldn’t want them because they are just hideous! Some are nice looking, but those are the super cars, not the everyday driver…they can keep their POS.

yea, theres a reason that american doesnt get european cars, it is partly because european cars usually are of a much higher quality than american cars so are more expensive, therefor you americans would be much less likey to buy them over your own american cars.
example Ford Europe makes some of the best built cars that you can but, like the mondeo, focus and the new fiesta that is coming out shortly.

the rear diffuser is quite odd…but theres nothing wrong with the alfa, fiat, OR volkswagen. It seems the new look for euro cars are a sloping front end..nothing wrong with that. it’s a hell of a lot better than some of the show cars put on just to win a trophy.
