No wonder American auto makers are losing market share..its self fulfilling!! The same thing happened with the PT cruiser..they waited what.. 3 or four YEARS before they did a rag top..by then consumers were cooling to the design..they should also have done a PT mini pickup like the old Rampage…these people are just plain lazy!! they design ONE body style and then go home….I remember the Marauder convt. at the car show….wonderful car..plus memo to the idiots at Chrysler…more body styles means more sales ..more trips to the dealer..for service etc etc…while we are on the subject…do these guys even go to auctions..Cuda’s sell for double that of Challengers…they really should have made the Cuda or Both lines!!
I remember going to the NYC show when they introduced the Mustang Mach 1 with the Shaker hood. A Ford exec. was standing there and I said ..nice car they should make a topless version..she turned to me and said…”they didn’t make a Mach 1 convt. back in the sixties!!! Ford actually pays someone to think this way…how about this… build proto-types and get some feedback from the public..u know the people who BUY the Friggen CARS!!!

Appearently none of you people are old enough to remember that the 1970 Challenger (which the current car car is modeled after) could be had in both a hard top AND a convertible.
I too think that the new Challenger should be built from the factory as a convertible along with the hardtop!
Nothing could be better than a brand new big V8 powered rear wheel drive sexy Challenger driven with the top down on a nice sunny summer day! Ahh.

i dont understand, i saw some guy near my house taking pictures of a orange new challenger convertible with big aftermarket wheels. is it possible that guy had his challenger custom made? i didnt think anything of it at the time because i thought they were selling them already along side the coupe
