Jeremy Clarkson Injured in Crash

By John Coyle

Editor

There aren’t many details available, but Jeremy Clarkson has been hurt in a high-speed crash while filming a segment for Top Gear. Fortunately, his injuries were far less serious than the brain trauma suffered by colleague Richard Hammond last year, and he’s already recovering at home. Obviously, it takes more than little old car wreck to shut Clarkson up—here’s what he had to say about the state of his body after the incident: "My right index finger looked like a burst sausage, my left shin wasfatter than my thigh and my back felt like someone had driven over itwith a pile-driver." Yikes. Get well soon Mr. Clarkson, hopefully we’ll get some more info once the new Top Gear season starts in November. via The Mirror

He owns a classic GT 390 Mustang too. Pitted it against the new Shelby GT500 awhile back, and while he criticized the car’s credentials as a circuit racer, he was very please with the fun factor and 1/4 mile performance. Hope he gets back to filming soon.

Ummm, guys? You do realize he’s joking about Americans? He does own a Ford GT. And, actually, the majority of American cars he’s tested he’s liked. It’s nothing to get offended over.

Anyway, I’m not entirely surprised. Okay, I’m not surprised at all. What does surprise me is that it took this long for him to have such an accident. Good work! :)

I’d say that it would be a case of revenge on behalf of all American cars.
-
There is some merit to Clarkson’s opinion of American cars, but at the same time he is clearly biased against this side of the pond in general.
-
Despite this he’s pretty funny sometimes and Top Gear is by far the most creative and entertaining car show around, and I don’t want to see such entertainment end because of an accident.

Oh and checked the clip of Hammond’s accident. Had seen it before, forgot.

I was just asking, because if it was an American car then he is going to have one more reason to hate on them!

I doubt it was american cause most on his show aren’t. I hope he’ll be okay. I didn’t know Rich Hammond had brain trauma from an accident. Is he okay????
