BMW 335i Coupe vs. Audi A5: Too Close To Call!

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

This was our closest Showroom Showdown in quite some time. Lots of people around the office were predicting an easy victory for the Bimmer—mostly because of its superior hp to weight ratio—but by my count, both cars got 36 votes. So we’re calling this one a tie, folks. Ryan is pretty happy.

audi/volkswagon are junk, constant starting, turbo failures, headgasket and cooling system troubles,it is not possible to get 6 weeks, never mind 6 months trouble free driving out of these junkers.built by morons , and driven by morons.

I previously owned an Audi and I can tell you that it is the most unreliable car I have ever had! I think only alfa Romeo can be more troublesome and costly!

Ok they look nicer than BMWs of late, but not all. And the BMW 3 series coupe is a very nice looker and drives much better than any audi, be it quattro or FWD. I have went for one and I can tell you without hesitation: unless you are really patient, with lots of money and time to spend on car rental and repairs, stay away from AUDI!!!

The real beauty of any car lies beyond the paint and trim and performance. There are reliability problems with autos from Germany. Audi for one, is weak in the US market due to low second ownership due to reliability and lack of engineering support. Audi also has a record for charging excess labor rates and the time needed for repairs. My TT has been in the shop 8 times just for a windshield reservoir (that keeps breaking and leaking even after two years!) as well as the left headlight sprayer unit. This has been replaced 3 times. The last one broke the first time used! Each of this items was replaced in 45 minutes yet Audi charges over 2 hours @ 96 bucks an hour. The issues with the turbo, timing belt, leaks, oil sludge, etc. is very expensive. Even Kia seems to build more reliable cars that Audi. Buy Audis at your own risk and please have a nice savings account; you will need it.

BMW may have a more popular name, but the Audi is pure class and there is no way a BMW is gonna beat an Audi (especially with the people who drive BMWs – most too stuck up to care).

The Audi is a gorgeous car, and wins hands down!!!

In my opinion(which matters), is that Audi still does not hold the same presence in the marketplace as a BMW.
