Formula Motor On The Dyno
By Jen Dunnaway

It’s hard to believe they can get 800 hp out of such a tiny, naturally-aspirated V8—current F1 regs call for a displacement of only 2.4L. Watch it rev to 18,000 RPM on the dyno, below.

Wade is right, that is a 3liter v10 from the old regulations. Newer V8 should put out the same kind of output though

wow. tiny displacement. Honda loves that don’t they. If honda can follow f1 rules, why can’t it go elsewhere with engines

This is wicked. But if there are really are “few things more impressive than a formula engine at full song” than why doesn’t the announcer shut the hell up for a second, and turn off the music? Still, awesome.

Impressive! Cool video. 300 times per second! That’s hard to wrap your head around how fast that is.
