Carzen: For People Who Choose Cars Like Appliances
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
I guess for some folks, picking out their next ride is like shopping for a new home-entertainment system—there’s no squinting at grainy Craigslist photos or rushing out into the wilderness with a car hauler and a wad of bills. Nope, for the majority of the non-enthusiast world, it’s a matter of checking some boxes for the "features" you want, quibbling over the warranty, then having someone else decide on your next ride for you. It’s kind of like those career aptitude tests they made you take in highschool—don’t they always suggest you do something either completely screwy or soul-crushingly boring? Ditto for CarZen, which told me that what I really need in my life is a new V6 Honda Accord. I don’t know where they’re getting this, but keep in mind the site is clearly still in beta mode (watch for glitches and unexpected Latin). And as John pointed out, the program’s attempts to analyze your personality are pretty hysterical ("Where’s the checkbox for ‘I am an irresponsible hellion who wants to kick out the ass end of my car every time I turn a corner’?"). But still, it’s loads of fun to find out what kind of car you’d be driving if you were someone who didn’t really care that much about cars. Take the test!
Thanks for finding this, Ari. Via Lifehacker.

cknarf, the 135 has tons of balls. It’s a fast fast car. You’d love it if you love speed.
The funny thing is that my list hit DEAD on. I’ve been planning on ordering a MINI Cooper S this winter, and it turned out the be number 2 on the list, right after the BMW 128i (which I would like to go for if it wasn’t so lofty in price).
My number 5 was a Honda Accord. They must throw that thing on every one’s list.

It didn’t do so bad for me. Of course i didn’t give it much of a choice other than a 4×4 expedition. If i had to choose a new SUV i think that would be it. But i also agree with the no truck option. WTF. I have to pull a trailer everytime i want to move a piece of furniture or something?

At least I got one of the cars I want to buy later in my results.
Volvo C30 2.0 R-Design (this one)
-and-
Audi A3 2.0T
-
Nearly all my answers were “not important” concerning nearly everything.

I’m also disappointed that they don’t have a truck option.

I think it’s funny that I told it to avoid all Japanese brands but Infiniti and all European brands except Audi, Jaguar and Saab and 5 of my top seven are Mitsubishi, two Hondas, a BMW and a Nissan. Although the number 1 on my list is the Mustang, so it’s not too far off.

I got a G35 Sport sedan. Meh, wouldn’t be in my top 5, but if I had to buy one it would be ok.
