Ultra-Hot VW SP-2 Concept

The whole retrostyling thing is kind of hit and miss—for some nostalgia-influenced redesigns, like the ‘05-’09 Mustang, it totally works, and for other cars it just doesn’t. But this VW SP-2 concept, a reimagining of a rare Brazillian-issue vee-dub from the 70’s (see the original here), absolutely nails it. Too bad it’s just a computer rendering. Looks good, except for the giant dent in the door. Looks like someone made the car out of chocolate and it started to melt…

Meh. If we are not getting the corrado or the sirocco, then I doubt I have much to look forward to as far as this one is concerned.

That looks like one sizable package of all out kickass awesomeness! Any word on if VW is looking to take this to prototype, or they just going to bank on the GTi in N America?

It looks like a new concept for the AMC gremlin
