Dude, any dumbass who says the van isn’t at fault is a fucking moron and they definitely have no clue about motorcycles.

First of all, when you make a left turn, you wait until traffic clears. Numb nuts in the van didn’t do that. It doesn’t take a rocket gynocologist to see a motorcycle coming.

Second of all, who knows how fast the motorcycle was going? Or how about the speed limit? Nobody does, so shut up. The biker may be an idiot, but this accident wasn’t cause by his speeding. It was caused by fuckface in the van who wasn’t watching out.

Third when you ride (a motorcycle) around a bend, you lean into the turn. If you brake or downshift, it fucks with your suspension geometry and your bike straigtens out. A talented rider could have avoided the crash but this biker is lucky he didn’t get hit, the van would have owned him.

Last, I’ve known a few people who have died because some dumbass teenager wasn’t paying attention. It’s not that hard, just open your eyes and point them at the road. Motorcyclists don’t stand a chance against morons at the wheel.

Also, given the delay between the van starting to turn and the biker going past, he was either going way too fast or braked far too late.

Quite possible the van’s view was obscured by something, you never see a shot of behind the cameraman. But yes, the van is at fault. That said, the rider probably was going a lot quicker than necessary, and it’s also possible the van driver misjudged his speed. Both of them could have avoided that incident.

hmm, I know the footage, it’s taken in Romania, just near the city of Cluj. A lot of bikers gather there just to have fun and prove their skills ..obviously, this one was not so fortunate. it’s a madness here in romania on the roads, just because the bikers say that the drivers are not paying attention to them, but on the other hand, the speed limits are a good joke for them…until one day..sorry for him anyway.

It doesn’t really look like the guy on the bike was going terribly fast, or faster then I would expect someone to do on a highway. Honestly like most people in cars the van probably didn’t pay much attention to the bike. It seems like there’s a lot going on in the area where the van was trying to turn, so they may have been distracted by that but still, the van failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and regardless of how fast the bike may or may not have been going they are at least partially responsible for the biker wrecking.

the biker really isn’t going that fast when he’s in the camera’s view probably 40 and if you look at the bike behind the van in the begining hes is going the fastest then anyone….theres a lot of what if’s in the video to tell whos wrong but by what you see…i would have to say its the vans fault, he is slow to turn, the bike has the right of way no matter how fast he is going, its the vans responsiblity to determin if he can turn with out hurting anyone and he fails

this is a common action taken by truck drivers, wait til the last second than pull out. since they have the larger vehical most likely you will die. they also do this in reverse pulling out with the flow of traffic, if there is noone behind you for miles they will pullout in front of you at the last second and not speed up for at least ten miles. this is why you must cut off these trucks every chance you get, pass in front and slam on the brakes, and hope they panic and drive into a ditch, or throw your garbage out the window at them, or by a 5 million candle watt spot light and blind them at night. fuck these truckers, scumbag road gypsy’s!

Sorry, but the only way the van driver is at fault is if the bike is traveling anywhere close to the posted speed limit. It is hard enough to pick up a bike coming at you as it is, but at that speed there is no way the driver saw the bike far enough in advance to see it coming. You can’t yield for what you can’t see or hear.

The guy in the van started to turn because he figured he would have made it if they guy was going a sane speed. It’s easy to find yourself in his shoes if someone’s not going anywhere near the speed limit. the guy on the bike may have even been coming around a turn or up a hill and the van never saw him coming. There’s a time and a place for everything.
