Brilliant Advertainment: The Dodge Ram Challenge

While there have been many plugs for the new Dodge Ram pickup, nothing beats this campaign that Dodge is running at its site, clips of which you might’ve seen on TV. Head over to ramchallenge.com to check out this actually pretty clever reality-TV themed video series for yourself. The site is currently running the first episode in a series of four, which will show the new Ram competing in a variety of challenges from payload to offroad. And while it’s hard to gauge from only the first episode, what they’ve got so far is about seven minutes of absolutely decent advertainment. Watch!

Holy hell! I’ve got to admit they made that pretty exciting, but man – overcompensation anyone? 8 guys, all over 200 lbs, all with 5:00 shadow, racing pickups. Gotta have the military choppers, big trucks, and a shotgun to start the race? So much testosterone in that video I think my monitor just grew a pair.

I saw 4 teams of assh*les flooring the pedal without any knowledge of basic offroading (eg: speeding, shooting corners, wrong acceleration on jumps, blowing the tires whilst doing the “fill the gap thing”, getting stuck on the ramp…) LOL and they’re professionals?
….Everyone can floor the pedal knowing he won’t pay any damage done to the vehicle….
Bah…btw it would be such an adrenaline rush doin the race…

I’m not a hater but what does this represent? A truck abused during ONE race that won’t be used next day as a daily workhorse?
Dodge rams are still one of the best trucks around!

Just looks like their copying the Toyota Tundra commercials. Toyota’s always promoted their trucks like that, theres 2 vidz on youtube of unaired banned footage of Tacomas being beat to the limit. One almost barrel rolls off a berm!

That is insane, they tore those trucks up! But they still made it to the finish, the tire was off the rim on the one. It had to be an adrenaline rush.

Did anyone else notice how the cowboys got screwed twice? First by the firemen, then by the contractors.
