CarDomain Pumpkin Carving Contest Winners!

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

There sure were some incredible entries in our first-ever CarDomain Pumpkin Carving Contest. Hot damn, you guys sure are good with tiny little knives! The contest is now closed, and because there were just too many awesome pumpkins for us to pick a single winner, we’ve decided to award a couple of runners-up as well, who will each receive a CarDomain beanie for their efforts.

Overall winner: Paul’s Trans Am pumpkin! As one of the commenters said, it’s like a photograph. The depth and detail makes the Firebird really pop, and the lettering is great too. Paul gets a CarDomain tee-shirt and beanie!

Runner-up #1: Aydar’s "Pumped Smart." You’re not even going to believe this insane smart-car pumpkin "build." CUBE is famous for clever photos involving his smart, but he takes it to a whole different level for the contest!

Runner-up #2: Eli’s Dodge Stealth pumpkin. Nicely rendered, beautiful shading. I wish I had the skills!

Congrats to all on some absolutely fantastic pumpkin carving, and thanks to all for participating in the most car-crazy carving contest on the net. See the runners up and honorable mentions below the jump—each pic links to the carver’s ride page. There were also a selection of logo pumpkins which can be viewed in the comments of the original contest post. Happy Halloween!

Eli’s Dodge Stealth:

Amy’s 300ZX:

Joal’s SE-R

Yousuf’s GT-R pumpkin

Emailing or messaging Jen with your name and shipping address is a good plan but yeah – I wouldn’t expect to hear much until after SEMA.

Hey Eli, I was wondering the same thing the other day. What I did was I sent a private message to Jen Dunnaway using the link at the top of the Blog to get to her homepage. I left a message with my shipping addy. I haven’t heard back from her though?

Hey Jen, any details we need to know about?

Great job to everyone who entered, there is a lot of talent on CarDomain. I was very excited to see my name on the list, thank you. I’m sure you will all see an entry from me next year as well.

On a side note, could someone point me in the right direction to claim the Beanie?

Wow, didn’t even know that I won until now.

Cube, thanks for the congrats. I really thought your Pumped Smart kin would take the gold.

Amy, I know your pain. Any kind of carving that is over 20 minutes really starts to cramp up your hands and fingers, but its the outcome that makes it worth it and your 3D ‘kin was definitely worth it as its one of the coolest ones I’ve ever seen!

Congrats to all the entries for showing their car love Halloween style!

For the comment that says that I somehow cheated because I used pic that was a couple years old, there was no where in the rules that it said that so I thought it fair. I’ll just carve a new one of my Solstice for next years contest. I really don’t do it to win, I did it to show the love for my car and I thought that is what all this was about.

Congrats to the winners!!

I wish mine could have been seen in person, its much more impressive that way lol. An Exacto knife + a potato peeler + being up all hours into the night = priceless. Hahaha…

Im excited for next year so I can try this technique again!!!

That sucks, I think that the pumpkin carving contest should be for ones that were carved recently. I think you should give his shirt to the guy that cut up the mobil oil bottle! He probably will enter that pumpkin pic next year and win again…not fair!

I am not sure if that even matters, but on Paul’s page he said that he carved that pumpkin in 2004.
