New Driving Shoes For Me
Urgh. Shopping for driving shoes is not my idea of fun. With the average men’s shoe size in the US being a 10D, my ladies’ 8AA feet aren’t an easy fit. Pilotis and other professional shoes are out of the question – even if I can find a short enough pair, my skinny feet are floating around inside. Not too good for heel-toe action. I’d heard good things about Puma, so I took advantage of a free hour to hop over to their shop at the local mall. Although most Puma shoes are not flame retardant as required for competition driving, they do make quite a few in leather that will do the trick for HDPE and club lap days. I was completely shocked to find a pair that not only had a good wrap-around sole, but also fit my uber-girlie feet! I’ll just have to get used to the pink.

Funnily enough, the best shoes I find for driving and cycling (and pretty much anything) are S.Carter Reebok Tennis shoes, I’ve owned the pair for years (still wearing them now) but I’ve never found something that matched in practicality.

You have a hard time finding size 8??? Try finding size 15!!! THEN complain how hard it is! I haven’t bought shoes in an actual store since I’m 15!!! And I hate how the people in the stores always try to make you feel like if you were not human just because of the shoe size!
.
When they say “NO! sorry we don’t have sizes that freaking big!” -actual quote from a store clerk- My reply is “Oh so you don’t have men’s sizes in here!” That usually shuts them up!
