Rolls Royce Silver Shadow With Blown Hemi

Ok, so before everyone freaks out, I know that Rob blogged this Hemi-powered Rolls already. But I had a chance to talk to the builder and got a bunch more photos, so I figured a follow-up post was in order. Joe Richardson of Little Joe’s Street Rod Shop constructed this baby for a client who was using it as daily driver, but wanted to transform it into a luxury car that would "go fast." Given that its got a 1350HP Hemi sticking out of the hood—subtlety apparently isn’t Joe’s strong suit—I’d imagine the customer is probably happy with the end result. Now, raw power is one thing, but it’s the attention to detail which makes this Silver Shadow really special. It’s sporting a full roll cage wrapped completely in hand-stitched leather—each bar took eight hours to complete—and the full cell, batteries and nitrous bottles in the truck also got the treatment. Since it only gets about four miles a gallon, the lucky owner probably won’t continue to use it as a daily driver, but I’m not going to hold that against him. Check out the walk-around video I shot, and don’t miss all the pics posted after the jump.

its been a great “ride”, Sema top 8 car, Popular Mechanic Sema top 12, Best of Show NSRA, Coolest Classic Good Guys…a fantastic surprise to see such a positive response. Having been a Hemi Owner since the early 70’s, I could not resist the rolls royce of motors in the RR! Thanks all for your continued support.

This car is awesome front to back inside and out. Detail to the fullest in every aspect of the car. within the next month i will get to see it in person because i personally know the owner of this car. this is probably the only Rolls Royce i would ever own.

I love the leather wrapped roll cage. Those backseat TVs have to go though.

I love it when people bastardize british rides with purely american mods. I can see the wincing and hear the gasps now…

I wonder what Clarkson would think about this?

oh man that is cool

I’ve always wanted to do an ’80’s Bentley Mulsanne Turbo with a GM 572 crate motor and a big-ass Procharger.

Saw this a couple months ago at an auto show, glad to see he’s still keeping the Grey Poupon in there. I wonder when it hit its expiration date?
