1980 Corvette Turbo Concept Resto

By Katherine Helmetag

AKA atomicalex

After 14 years of frame-off restoration, this 1980 Corvette Turbo Concept is done. Willie Yager spent a good bit of that time researching the various configurations the car was tested with before GM gave it up. The interior, wheels, and paint reflect one complete set. Willie has the other wheels the car was run with at home. The rest of the car has been restored back to original specs and features two neato temperature-activated NACA ducts on the hood for engine bay ventilation. You can read more about the car in back issues of Vette magazine. Willie brought it out to display at the Spanjaard booth.

It is on the top of my list for best of cars at SEAM.

“BOOB” Balderston? I would have to assume that you meant “ugliest?”
Good comment though, looks like you put almost as much thought into your comment as the restorer of the car probably put into his work…. Very easy to be a critic. This car has loads of value in the Corvette world or even automotive world in general. I could understand it not having as much value in your Hyundai world. That my friend, is truly priceless!!!!!

first, take one of the ughliest year vette’s made
second, rebuild it, make it better(?)
third, realise, it has the same drag cof. level as a vw bus
fourth, sit back and realise you still have all of the above

priceless
