Sometimes a carnard is just a canard. When it comes to sport compact tuning, bodykit, paint, interiors, or turbos, the wilder it is, the better it WAS. This year’s crop of tuner sport compacts is a welcome reprieve. The insane bodykits have given way to smooth lines. The blinding paint schemes are replaced with aggressive two-tones. More cars are fitted with integrated drivetrain and suspension mods. Dare I say it? Is the sport compact market growing up?

although that supra is a bad choice for the article this industry is growing up. We went from everyone want to make a civic Ferrari to everyone wanting realistic goals and not making everything so goddy and unnecessary.

the gt look doesn’t look too bad on some cars, lose the stickers and it’ll look fine to me

I saw a car from the 30s built with a 1500cc supercharged inline. Of course, it was ridiculous, and still so in a mathed world of truth, but dare I say it for all the ricers as well as american car keepers already know…they were once grown up. Pedophilia took over later…returning to truly grown up would have no inlines at all, no straight gear trannies, and a standard that allows for small cliff jumping..aerodynamically. I haven’t seen it. The 3 main boxer is extincted…

Whenever I see a ridiculous wing like that,I wish I could sit some rolls of toilet paper, a bottle of shampoo and a loofa on it. Would love to see the expression of a tuner’s face when he comes out to get in his ride with that stuff sitting up on da shelf.

Reminds me, I gotta stash a couple rolls of TP, a bottle of suave and a loofa in the trunk, just in case.
