What Do You Call a Rat Rod That Isn’t Ratty?
By John Coyle
Editor
While I’m surely running afoul of rockabilly nomenclature by even mentioning the phrase "rat rod" in regard to this ride, I don’t really care. Seriously, unless we’re talking about bourbon, I’m about as far from a "purist" as you can get. So I’m not going to say sorry until somebody with sleeves and slicked back hair threatens to kick my ass. Anyway, this gorgeous creation was parked in the Firestone Industrial Products booth, and I had to stand back to keep from drooling all over the sheet metal. How dope do the motorcycle tires look up front? Since it’s running a Chevy 350 mated to a Tremec six-speed, I have to admit I was a little confused by the Peterbuilt badge about the grill. But that doesn’t make this creation any less awesome. Check out a bunch more glamor shots and the full specs after the jump.

This is cool. I didn’t notice the windows/cab until reading the details in the blog. “Peterbuilt” but with a V8 Chevy confused me too.
Dual rear tire set-up would have been perfect! Custom two-tire rims with the total width as a single drag slick…man, it would kill!

a hood, fenders, and a longer frame with a fifth wheel would’ve been alot cooler.

too much bling bling….from the ghetto? who knows? but less chrome would lead to a perfect ride

whatever its called, its pure sex in a bottle. I bet getting into something THAT chopped and with a roll cage is a feat of magic.

Using the all aluminum Peterbuilt cab it’s a ‘PeteRod !’ LOVE it !!
Clean, simple, well executed, and lots of ‘Gotchya’ factor !

A “Nostalga Rod” if it uses period correct speed parts, or simply a “Hot Rod” if it incorperates modern ones.
