SEMA 2008: Free Pinstriping by Von Hot Rod!

By John Coyle

Editor

Von Hot Rod has been doing free pinstriping every year I’ve been at SEMA, and I’ve always wanted to get my phone done. The only problem is that there are always giant lines, and since I generally spend all my time finding stuff to blog, that makes it a no-go for me. But I’ve gotten a chance to watch him work—it’s amazing how steady his hands are!—and if you ever make it to SEMA, I highly recommend adding some old-school cool to your phone. Click here to watch a clip of this master in action.

A master at work. Really interesting to see how it’s done. Doing it in dark glasses just adds to the cool.

Sorry man, I shot the video with my little Casio, and I was more interested in the way that his hands were moving than the actual finished product. I’ll post some shots of pinstriped phones tomorrow.

Ah man, the video is terrible – the camera is way too far away to see the actual pinstriping being applied, and then you don’t even zoom in on the phone after it’s done to show us the final work. Your cameraman needs a kick in the butt for this one.
