SEMA 2008: Knight Rider GPS Way Too Funny

By John Coyle

Editor

To be honest, I could care less about the new incarnation of Knight Rider, but I was a huge fan of the original series. So I was stoked to stumble across the Knight Rider GPS in the mobile electronics hall. It’s exactly like other systems, except the voice that gives you turn-by-turn directions is KITT’s. And while I know that sounds cheesy, I totally ate it up. There are 300 names stored in its memory—sometimes it’s good to be John—and the system will even deliver personalized messages before you start a trip. Check out pics of the bad-ass KITT replica they had in their booth below, and click here to see the GPS in action.

Actually no, I think the Knight Rider GPS came out in September of this year.

Awesome. Now, if only it recognized your voice and you didnt have to press any buttons…………………

Love it. I have other cool celebrity voices like Mr. T, Kim Cattrall and Dennis Hopper that I got from Navtones.com. But turning my Ford Tempo into K.I.T.T is a must! Navtones provides the voice so you know it’s the real deal.
