Hummer On Tracks At SEMA

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

This was one of the vehicles I saw rolling out of the convention center at the end of the SEMA show. Hey, whatever else you might say about it, at least it can move under its own power—it’s not like every SEMA car can do that!

nice hummer but change the colors. atleast go with some yellow and black instead of lime green and black. hummers are supposed to have sweet colors not girl colors.

This ride would be good for off road.I don’t think it would be for the streets.Looks cool!
You know I come to this site to see the AWESOME rides! But there seems to be alot of hateing on here…..Who wants to read a bunch of NEGETIVE CRAP!Can’t Cardomain filter some of the worst of it out!
I was reading about the Presidents Limo.Weather you like him or don’t like him …What does it have to do with his ride!!!! This site is about automobiles not Politics!

I’ve seen a Polaris Ranger on Mattracks in the snow. That thing was unstoppable. This may be the only way to make a Hummer even slightly decent off-road. That thing is just way too wide for many of the trails around here. I’d rather have a Jeep or Toyota over a Hummer any day.

What’s the f_cking is the point of that? Ugly and stupid

Nov 12, 2008 at 4:11 am

and plus about the spare tire on the back whats wrong about it? you really can’t put a spare track back because of the size and cause a spare track costs about a little over $5,000 and they weigh about 300 pounds!!!

IH-international
Nov 12, 2008 at 4:08 am

omg the cd staff completely failed with this one!!!
the hummer has a set of mattracks on it!!!!
and there not new!!! they been around for over a decade!!! heres there wesite!!! http://www.mattracks.com
they make tracks for off road applications for 4×4 truck tractors atv’s and even trailers!!! other than the price tag they are better than tires in every way for off road applications!!!

These upgrades have been available for a LONG time. the downside to them is the noise and the limited speed. did u hear that thing squeeking by? i would rather ride on 48″ Super Swampers thank you very much.

Tracks on an SUV do *kinda* make sense – if you’re taking it up the side of a snowy mountain. It’s funny to hear it squeaking along on concrete. I have to agree with Zach though – looks a little ridiculous with a spare tire on the back.

I was at a show at the LVCC a few weeks back and walked through that same spot in the POURING RAIN. Wish I had SOME ride, but a tracked Hummer? No thanks.

Yeah, I agree with the headlight, but also why does a vehicle on tracks need a spare tire? It’s not like they’re going to get a flat.

Corey

Hate the hummer but yet its still cool

Zach
Nov 9, 2008 at 10:54 pm

I love that the full-sized spare is still on the trunk. For SEMA, they should have at least had a spare tread back there or something :P
