I do have to agree with Mike. This pilot is a piece of shit. The wheels dont go with the flow of the car at all. The fisher price my first paint job could have been done better by a 4th grader with down syndrome. I have seen this builders work before (ryan shutt) and everything seems repetitive from him. Theres a huge lack of imagination and the apparent peel, place and drive add-ons screams hack work. As far as praise for the pilot the interior and stereo work was toned down and done tastefully. There are some nice cars and shitty cars at SEMA from what i’ve seen but this Pilot is off course and heading for a crash landing.
Respectively,
E.Hersh

The hate I felt in that review was just over the top. Geez buddy, though I don’t think it is the best looking it isn’t the worst. Go to any local meet where Riced out cars show up and then tell me that was such a badly done Pilot. By the way you had to be blind not to see that that is a Honda Pilot.

This Mike guy gets annoying after hearing him a couple times.
He’s like one of a CD with only one track .
Or one of those people who always tell the same joke .
It gets old real fast , even if there is some truth in what he says.

treating it like a real suv creates a “rolling mess” too, I am not sure what was worse, the sight of the sema one or a real world one in the crap that it looks like it should handle.

Who gives a crap what this guy mike thinks? like someone earlier stated, the whole point of SEMA is to showcase products, not all builds are going to be perfect. Im getting sick of seeing Mike-related articles. Waste of space.

LOL @ the rolling abortion line, Mike.
-
Looks like it crashed into a paint store.
-
The splash (?) paint pattern was horribly executed and the work was handicapped from the start with the choice of colors.
-
A lot of effort is great, unless it’s wasted effort.

Dude… the thing was hideous. I absolutely understand the over the top vibe at SEMA, I just don’t agree with it. I love modified cars and trucks more than anyone, but I think there is a very fine line in executing a great custom car and one that is simply gaudy. I agree with all the suspension tweaks and grill modification but as the customizer why wouldn’t one focus in on those things? By making the car so outlandish looks wise I just think it detracts from the really cool aspects of it.

Mike, you don’t seem to understand the “over the top” nature of SEMA, and need at the show to ramp up the “look at me” factor. Of course it’s a garrish paint job, of course that sound system is SEMA standard issue, but some of the mods improve the look of the Pilot, which needs improvement. The lowered suspension, the grill and headlights, the fender flares, all help to improve the Pilot, and can be applied without the SEMA wonk. Get a grip.
