I'm really not worried about this.. In the U.S., this car's airbags will operate as they should. In regards to safety, we're a lot less forgiving here than elsewhere.. For example, you don't see polls sitting in the road without a fence or a curb around it.. Things are just different there... I don't think you guys know what you're talking about.
The airbag not deploying is a big problem, however, the wrecked car actually looks very GOOD. It was a high speed offset collision. I see almost no buckling in the roof structure, the A-pillar appears completely intact. There is some foot-well intrusion, but not much. Overall, the safety cage held up surprisingly well for such a high speed impact. The crumple zones appear to have worked perfectly and did their intended job. Aside from the airbag not deploying, the structure of the car itself looks very safe.
