This Week's Amoco Ultimate Winner!

Honestly, I had nothing to do with this. I know FuryPaul from Moparts, and he has provided us with some great photos of the Retro Dealership at the All-Chrysler Nationals and the Bay Country Region VCCA Fall Blow-Out. So I was pretty stoked when I learned that the guys had picked his big C-body (entry # 1490) as this week’s Amoco Ultimate winner!

29 years ago, in 1979, I bought my first car: a 1967 Plymouth Fury III with a 383 and non-functioning factory air. Two years ago, I found this one on eBay and won it after a momentary lapse of impulse control. Same year, model, body style, power train and color! Cleaner and straighter than my first one, though, with only 76,000 original miles!

Enjoy your $250 in free gas, Paul!

There are still more chances to win, so if you haven’t already thrown your hat into the ring, make sure to enter the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest!

I forgot to mention, fuel was 21.9 a gallon during gas wars.

I recently sold my 2 door 67 ‘VIP’ I had since new in highschool.
It saved my life several times. Those who went to Anoka remember it well.
383′s just flat out rock. It’s basically the Road Runner in disguise.
The trany’s didn’t care what you did to them.
It’s only weak point was drum brakes on all 4.
For a full size ship, it had the unibody design by Chrysler
making it lighter & faster than any thing else out there.

Cheers & have fun.
God I miss crank out wing windows.

Nah, it’ll last longer than that. There are stations near me that have 89 octane for under $2.00/gal now, and I think one of them’s a BP/Amoco.
When 89 was $2.20 (only a few weeks ago), I put $34.50 worth in the ’67 and that brought it up to 3/4 of a tank. I’ll probably top it off before the end of the year. I do need to drive this car more, now that it’s finally tuned properly. I’ve had it for two years and I’ve only put 160 miles on it.

Congrats Paul…..that gas card will probably be gone in two tanks!
