Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Countach Kit

By Rob Einaudi

BP

I’ve noticed quite a few Lambo pics uploaded to the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest, but somehow I’m doubting that most were uploaded by their actual owners. This one (entry # 1487) is definitely legit—though it’s a kit. Still, I think it’s pretty cool. But then I had a Countach poster in my room in the 80s, too.

When I was growing up in the 80’s The lamborghini Countach was a poster that could be found on the walls of most teenage boys rooms. The car was an Icon and an image that said you had reached the top. At that age it was just a dream, Now at the age of 42 I finaly have the car. Well sort of .. I bought this custom built exotic because of the looks and because its powered by an American 1967corvette 327 V-8 . And I take very good care of it and that means only putting the best gas in it. There are still more chances to win, so if you haven’t already thrown your hat into the ring, make sure to enter the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest!

do a research on the dickweed they were very popular for rally cars an still popular today. us datsun owners take pride in our cars we dont ruin them like black people we have sense in our parts an wise with our money so i dont care what you say about my car its obviously your jealous an have no car cause again you still havent posted a link to YOURS, so call my car a sardine can even though its North American base, just show the world how much of a tool you are by replying.

Justin, you must be a clown. Bragging about that Datsun being so rare. I would take one Countach over all 78 of those sardine cans. Probably a good reason why they stopped making them after they made 78 of them. And you can’t find any more probably because they been crushed and there using them as boat anchors.

i drive a car more rarer then a damn countach. try a 1979 datsun HL-510 thats 7 of 78 ever made an ive olny found maybe 5 others on the road after a heavy long search around the net aswell as around where i live/across canada. so dont say i drive a market saturated car with a soupcan exhaust, hell i bought a ricer exhaust for it just for the hell of it to see what the craze was…never has been mounted an probibly never will be anyways. so mr GUY if you wanna say most of us who talk freely with an open mind have some crappy ass car then wheres the link to yours?

I love these, its almost refreshing to see these cars surface sometimes. Awhile back, the recording artist Kanye West used one in a music video and it was pretty cool…..everyone is so worried about having the lastest most expensive car, it’s cool to be reminded of where the new ones came from….

I also love how many are quick to leave a bad comment, yet won’t post links to their pages because they drive a market-saturated sedan with a soup-can muffler ha, c’mon guys

i agree with XTZ they were nice when they first came out but now with the world of supercars at fullthrottle(no pun intended) they just dont cut it anymore, before people start saying well its an 80s car its not suppose to compare to the 21st century keep this in mind, this car back in the 80s an even the 70s …all it was good for was looking at. its whole design was flawed from day one, steering was to sluggish to even be considered a supercar, i could go off listing more reasons but im not here to discriminate a car just giving my opinion.

More pictures would do it justice. These kits are hard to work on but come out right in the end if done right.

Bizarre. I really had one on my wall. age 12 in 85, and there was a supermodel in it. how embarassing.I’d put a boxer engine in a mini countach anyday…

Very nice! My mom had a real one just before I was born.

She was nuts to go to the dealership and buy one.
