What Did You Do This Weekend?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I just got back from a week off down in Nor Cal. We saw this beautiful Split Window Coupe heading north on 280 from San Jose. And the next day we spotted a Tesla in a parking lot in Menlo Park. What did you do this weekend?

upon browsing the hopeless pursuit on the web of old school suby parts,(the only chance for the really old school sube) I found the exact engine I was looking for, ready to throw in the back…better than the $1 brand new distributor from ebay!

Aside from the ECU in the broken RB26DETT, that’s pretty much my life.

Tried to fix the ECU in a broken RB26DETT, and made lots and lots of coffee.
And drank it.
And then peed it out.
And then repeat.
It felt like I would never sleep.

Oh cknarf i feel your pain!
.
I fix some paint problems on the back bumper and all there’s left to do is to fix the little mess ups but that’s about it with my car for the weekend. This time I couldn’t to much since it was raining.

Picked up all the parts to turn my recently prepped S10 frame into a 1953 GMC. It was a beautiful day for a road trip, and everything went perfectly on the day. Now I have a winter of rust repair and fabrication to look forward to.

I spent the entire weekend celebrating the Turkey Run here in Daytona Beach. Either at the Speedway or the impromptu car show at Belaire Plaza. You can read all about it and see the images I shot at

I had a blast and looking forward to the Historic Races this weekend at Sebring.

When to my in-laws, ate turkey.
Dropped the leaky trans pan on my wife Jeep, installed a drain plug, and reinstalled the pan.
Discovered the Grumpy is leaking fuel from the rubber hose that connects the filler neck to the gas tank and lacking time to fix if took it for a joy ride to bring the level below the leak.
Met up with friends.
Went to my parents, went to see “Bolt”, ate turkey.

The battery in my grand prix died last week so I been driving the Firebird. On the way home from work Sunday night I noticed the dash lights were dim. The new alternator died.
-
When I got home I had to transfer the new battery from the Firebird to the Grand Prix and I won’t bother moving it back so here I am again… gonna put another new alternator and battery in the Firebird… last did it ooh about a month or so ago.
-
…damn cheap-ass rebuilt alternators. That’s it, I’m buying a handfull of rebuild kits and doing it myself from now on.

I ripped the ever-so-stupid vent shades off of my truck… I’ve never bought a set (never will), but every vehicle I ever had with them already on there has ended up with them flapping around at highway speeds.
Now I just gotta figure out the best thing to take the two sided tape off…
