What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Ryan Porter

Marketing Guy

I know it’s the holidays and I should be out stimulating the economy but instead I shot down to smart center Seattle for an oil change and some warranty repairs.

With about 5,500 miles on the odometer I thought it was a good time for the second Mobile 1 oil change. I know they say I can go 10,000 on an oil change these days but I don’t trust it. While the car was in I also had the 6-disc in-dash stereo replaced, since the backlight had burned out. Also, the driver’s side mirror had to be replaced since the side-swivel motor had died.

So what about you—what did you do this weekend?

I purchased a GReddy Oil Catch Can & Oil Sandwich Adapter, Apexi PowerFC, J4 ECU, and a custom made wiring harness for my 96 180sx. Next, is the BC valvetrains, and 2.3 Stroker kit…..oh yeah…and spend some time in Afghanistan. Only 11 months to go!

i learned how much of a PITA dealing with insurance is after you are in an accident.

my agent decided to send my rental car reservation to pasadena, maryland.

i am in college in Florida. Couldnt transfer it because the other office was closed. had to wait til today to get it.

Good news tho the car will be repaired

MWHAHAHAaaaaa… I located and paid for a 323 posi rear for my Firebird w/ a complete disc brake setup… for $318. Now I um… gotta figure out how I’m gonna get it to where it needs to be so it can be installed.

Found an affordable source for .063 aluminum diamond plate, for the interior mods including the door panels. The interior will be black, diamond plate and red accent, with concealed red LED lighting. The rear deck and cubby lid will be diamond plate.

I just made a super cheap stand/bracket for the air filter tube to sit on. The filter was getting really dirty quick and was getting holes because since the tube didn’t have a bracket it was sitting way too close to the air vent that directs the air from the front bumper directly into the filter. I’ll make a better one when I don’t have so much damn homework! FINALS SUCK!!!!!!!!

Also the good old Taurus was dying so got some new Spark Plugs, nope that wasn’t the problem, then finally figured out it’s this little piece that connects intake manifold w/ PCV valve, probably a $5-$6 dollar piece but no one had it, which meant had to go to Ford and buy an official MOTORCRAFT one for about $27. I hope everyone else’s weekend was a little better.

Alright I live in an apartment OK, so on Saturday this guy breaks in and starts going crazy and yelling swearing just abosolutely crazy, then sunday had to go stay somewhere else for the night because the buildings heater was giving off CO. Pobably the worst weekend ever.

Volunteered at the Victory Junction Gang run, and has a BLAST. Got to meet LOT’S of kool people. Changed the hinge pin bushings on the driver door of the truck and also found out that the reason my window won’t roll up and down straight is because some sort of bracket broke off and was laying in the bottom of the door….OH JOY finding where IT goes…
