This Just In: New on the Net

I’m not sure if I’ve posted this before, but if I have, it’s probably worth another mention. For those of us who hate giant automated phone menus—which I’m pretty sure is everyone—Paul English’s GetHuman kicks ass. I’ve used it a bunch, and it’s worked every time. Anyway, here’s the news:

  • Ok, so I’m not saying that this mock advertisement is fair, but it’s still pretty funny, and I think it sums up the way a lot of folks feel about bailing out the automakers. Now somebody just needs to make one about the Wall Street fiasco. the Beast
  • It’s impressive that the 2009 Ram 1500 has achieved a five-star crash rating, but that’s only part of the story. Apparently, the burly Mopar demolished all the testing equipment in the process. Kidding. PickUpTrucks
  • Look, if you’re going to argue against the auto bailout, that’s fine. Everybody’s got an opinion. But to argue against helping the Big Three and say we need to aid, um, casinos? That’s crazy talk. I mean, that industry just takes people’s cash. For nothing. Wow. Jalopnik
  • Lee Iacocca doesn’t think that getting rid of the brass at the Big Three will help Detroit get back on its feet. Now, I’ve never been accused of having a head for business, but can somebody explain why all these execs get paid so much while their companies are failing. Hell, I’d let a company fail for 250K per year. Freep

That ad’s pretty f**ked up. I don’t understand why so many people want to let the American auto industry die. It just seems to me like Americans are becoming less and less American.

About all this Bailout stuff, 1st these execs who get the big money they probably worked for it( now I wouldn’t say that for all of them but whatever ) 2nd nothing against the UAW but I know of UAW workers who get multiple weeks off not to include sick days, personal days, and what ever else. 3rd obviously when these other workers take time off their has to be another worker to replace them which means that’s two people to pay with raises and benefits and all that good stuff.4th people who work at certain banks have no reason to say let the auto industry cough cough 700 billion dollar bailout. 5th(I’ve mentioned this before) people who ask the govt to help pay for their past due loans and what not hello your doing the exact same thing. Sorry to say we Americans are slowly killing our economy companies leave because we want more time off, benefits, and more pay-while on the other hand a company can outsource and pay much less. All of this I had poointed out is very obvious and the only way to make things better is for us Americans to stop being so greedy sorry to say. I’m not trying to say lets stop all benefits, and everything but lets just cool it down a little. If I am worng about something please feel free to correct me.
