Official Shelby GT500 Unveil at NAIAS

I got there a bit late and ended up in the cheap seats for the press conference, but pushed my way down to the main floor after the show was over. Of course Carroll Shelby was on hand to introduce the car—on his birthday no less. I’m still not that fond of the tail lights, but otherwise the car looks hot. Wait til you see the shift nob. There was a lot more to Ford press conference than just the Shelby 500, so stay tuned for that. More pics after the jump!

Chris J: Yes, that is a 2010 Fusion you see. FYI, NASCAR is going to let this year’s Fords run the 2010 styling cues on the race cars in advance of official showroom availability.

Okay, I’m a little different. I kinda like the red stripes on the Grabber Blue, but I think if they were orange stripes (think ’60s Gulf-sponsored Ford GTs) they’d be stunning.

the Vert’s color combo is disgusting. And I hate the stripes on the seats. other than that, the red one is nice. haha
