UK Garage Offers LS9-powered Lotus Extrema

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Talk about scary fast. Italian tuning company UK Garage is offering an Exige with a 647 hp LS9 from the Corvette ZR1. The chassis has been stretched by 20 cm and widened to fit bigger tires. Of course, these are gonna weigh a tad more than a stock Exige, but still… Kind of makes my head spin just thinking about it. More at Lotus Enthusiast

How about a World Products LS7X “Warhawk” 454 in a 79 datsun 510? wouldnt have anything near to this for power to weight but sure would be just as fun. These guys must have some crazy deathwish cause that things g-forces are gonna be pretty intense. hope to hell that little MR stance can handle the brute force of an LS9, seems like itll break loose judging on width and wheelbase, but we shall see! lets get the boys at Top Gear(preferably the Stig) to unleash it an show us what it can do.

Why would they drop a v12 in there? You could save room by putting a smaller engine in there, and turbo charging it. Oh well… nice specs anyway! :)

I want it Turbocharged. I want a Lingenfelter Turbocharged LS7 in the bay. With 1000 horsepower. And an all wheel drive system from a TT.

Now we’re talking monster BOYS.

actually the cts-v and the zr1 have the same motor but the only difference is the fact that the cts-v has forged rods instead of titanium, 10 millimeter head bolts instead of 12 and a 2.6 liter supercharger instead of 2.8

Actually no, the motor in the CTS V is the LSA while the motor in the ZR1 is the LS9 engine, the LSA makes 556BHP and the LS9 makes 638BHP.

Even with a slightly heavier body that is like 400 more ponies than stock. I wonder how the weight gain will affect its handling.
