New NHTSA Stats: Be Careful When Working Under Your Car!!!
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration just published a new study on backover deaths and other “non-traffic” deaths and injuries related to automobiles. In addition to the 221 people killed by backing-up vehicles in 2007 , the study also cites the fact that 168 people were killed from 2003 to 2004 when they were trapped or pinned under vehicles, usually while working on cars that fell from the supports. So be careful guys and make sure you’re up to speed on your jack safety! Via MSNBC

Where im at reciently there was a lady that had to change a flat tire at her house and was home alone. The car fell and pinned her leg for 2 days. No cell, no nothing. Survived because she could reach some of the things sitting in the seat she just bought until someone found her. Its scary stuff.

My friends uncle died when a van came down on him (he was only using a hydrolic cat/lift) and the rotor caved into his chest. Since then whenever I work under the car I lift it just like on the picture and I also put the tires under the car.

I know this is all true but do we need studies of this crap, come on there is better things people could be doing than figuring out who was too stupid to lift there car without proper equipment.

Only dumbasses go under cars without stands or a proper lift.
